that is a 2008 series 1 car. Completely different animal than a .2 car. It’s like night and day. Completely different engine, the AWD system is setup is not the same, engine mounts, 500hp vs 480, the suspension is different, and not to mention the interior…. If that car hasn’t sold… well then the market is telling you something about that particular car.

I'm fully aware of the differences between .1 and .2 Turbos. I was replying to Robocop305 who said he hasn't seen one in the $70s despite having replied to a Marketplace post where one hasn't sold for $69k. The BaT auction that started this conversation was also a .1 fyi.

clearly, I’ve not been paying enough attention. If a .1 car with that kind of mileage is bringing those prices…. We’ll I guess a lot of owners should feel pretty happy about now owning a 997 turbo …..1 or .2…the series has crossed a threshold or it’s the top of the market for awhile. I personally thing it’s a bit of both. I was at the Fort Lauderdale boat show 2 weeks ago… and it wasn’t like boats were flying off the docks. People are being conservative about making decisions…. Christmas could be a rude awakening on how the trucking crisis / port & container disaster unfolds. I was just hearing how hard it is to get oil filters for GT350s on another forum…. Maybe the new “value” is a tiptronic 997 Turbo… now when I see one of those trade over $80K…. Hahahaha

Is this just the “BAT” effect going on here? This pricing for a 997.1 Turbo seems like a bit of an outlier. Low 70s was kinda what my gut said these cars with 60-80k miles are currently worth but not too many transactions to analyze. That being said, I just ordered a 992 and plan to list my 07 in the Spring and I hope this market continues in this direction!!

I just sold my 2012 Turbo S with 30k mi for $106500 but not on BAT. Just put an ad in Rennlist. Listed it for $116k, and the nicest guy who was local came along and came in at $105k. He drove it, fell in love with it, and after a bit of haggling it sold for $106500. I think that was the right price for my car. About 20 other people reached out that week but the first guy was local so.... anyway, it's gone. New car supposed to come in around Dec 10.

The one mentioned above has 27k miles more. I don’t see a big issue with these kind of miles on a 15 year old car but some people will. With today’s car prices is very hard to find a car like the 997 turbo that performs and feel like it.

That guy got a hell of a deal, specially if the car was manual. 2012 Turbo S are rare.

100,000 miles is a huge perceptual barrier for most buyers. For me, that's the break-in period.

Not waiting for that, but no interest in selling either.

I bought my 2007 997.1 TT MT in 2010 with 29K miles and paid $80K for it. It now has new water pipes (welded) new clutch and 72K miles. Not even tempted at this point to sell. It does not surprise me that this particular edition of the 911 turbo is so presently favored. Very well built and very fast.

Got my 997tt in September 2016 with mods and a lot of them for 55k

I could prob get around 90-95k with what’s done to the car but I could care less. I couldn’t buy another car even close to what I have for that price
