There is alcantara on the dash in some pictures and not in others. Would that be a factory option? I have seen that on lower dash but not on the top before.
Looking at it again... there are a few things not stock on the Grand Prix pics. The carbon shifter, carbon pull brake, tail lights, fender lights, chrono, cage, white stitch alcantara on dash, console and steering wheel...

The only two things I think would be hard to take back to stock would be the Alcantara dash and console... and finding a new CLA "thick" steering wheel will be difficult. You could use these bits in negotiations though for a $250k< car.

About 5-6 years ago Grand Prix mis-represented a pumpkin I was interested in. I was told it had minor front end parking lot damage, turns out I was able to produce a repair order totaling $50k+, prior owner was BRR so probably spun into a wall during a track day. The guy acted surprised when I layed into him.

I wonder how many times this has exchanged hands without knowing the history WP0AC29907S792934

I appreciate you giving good feedback about the dealer. For future reference, what is BRR?

They had another 997 (not a GT3) that they represented as accident-free and I found a picture of it wrecked. Always google the VIN. I suspect they get some good cars, but it's not above them to not ask too many questions so they can plea ignorance, in my opinion. But sadly half the dealers out there might do the same thing.

Always try to buy from a private party if at all possible or utilize the services of someone like Switchcars to act as a finder/broker. Most of the good cars trade hands privately. The ones that end up in dealer inventory often have a story, which is why someone wholesaled them to a dealer instead of selling at retail to begin with. Of course there are exceptions.

Speaking of Switchcars... this one was well bought today .1 RS. It wasn't perfect... but the mileage was reasonable and some really great options. If I was selling I would hold off until January... that auction had almost no traffic.

I think the comment on a typo might be right. Buyer's last bid was a $250 increment, then bam $90,250 increment. 191 vs 101 and the 9 and 0 are right next to each other on most keyboards. Heck of an expensive typo!

Edit: Maybe not, now it says sold. $191,250 is a great price + met reserve so might just be a coincidence on the weird bid increment.

I used to think the same but I realized that most owners of high end cars end up trading their cars at dealerships to get the tax credit and not deal with a hassle of selling the car privately. This is the reason you hardly find private party sales.

Tax credits not available where I live...you are taxed on the contract sales price with no credit given for any trade deducts. Not sure what is most prevalent in the states...credit vs not

Carfax lists an accident with structural damage. Autocheck lists no accidents so I would be extremely cautious with this one or would just pass on it.

Current listing:

Shows cars sales history up to 2010:

Previous listing with @ 8600 miles:
http://usedfromus.com/porsche-ads/35...lable-now.html

VIN: WP0AC29958S792218
Since the structural damage listed on the the Carfax is so attractive, they have since raised the price from $220k to $250k.

This red 997.2 RS looks like a great parts car, buckets, silver wheels… zero rear/engine damage.
