.... sorry for the tangent,... but that just irks me for some reason.
That 1.2 HP was worth it

Sold for $150k + $5k buyers premium.

The auction was slow as molasses at the end as bidders were waiting till the last second to place their bids even though there is no tactical advantage to it as the timer always resets to 2 minutes. Only makes you look more hesitant and appear as if you are at your limit. Plus, the bids were often not much more than $1k increments or sometimes less.

Gives me a good idea of the value on mine. I am happy with that.

Is it me or do things seems to be cooling ever so slightly? I think Doug had this listed for ~$165k if I'm not mistaken. Seems .1's are sitting around a bit more has prices have climbed above $135k.

That auction's comments seemed weird as well... Nothing of substance asked.

Well when Snaveed isn't single handedly driving up prices in an auction things can come back down to earth a bit. I personally thought this car would sell between 145-155.

There were quite a few bidders in the room but bidding in small increments. This may have went a little higher if they weren't placing sub 1k bids at the end.

I still think the supply issue informs the price. I don't expect prices to come down unless a plethora of them hits the market all at once, which is not the norm for this car nor has it ever been, IMO.

I think it is one hasn’t been on BAT since Snaveed’s comeback a week or two ago so he can drive the price up. He just missed out on a 12k-mile standard Murcielago with a gated 6-speed yesterday. He bid to $512k and car sold for $515k. But him and the eventual winning bidder were bidding like crazy exclusively against each other from $380k to the eventual selling price of $515k. For those who aren’t knowledgeable about these cars, this one would probably not sell over $350k (definitely not $400k) under normal circumstances.

Silly money for that murci.

Does anyone know what happened with that 6k mile white 997.2 gt3 that KarPark sold to snaveed on BaT a few months ago? Did the transaction close? I could've bought that car for $145K right before it went on BaT and passed on it. Snaveed bid it to $209K i think. Shows how much I know ;-)

I was surprised switchcars used PCar to sell the 07 GT3 as a few cars that have not sold on that site have brought better money on BAT and sold. With the scarcity of low mileage clean cars, I think that car could have done 160-165 on BAT before fee.

Same. Maybe the wait was too long for BAT.

As a dealer myself I can only speculate that is likely the case.

When I am holding a car and making payments on it, PCAR can typically get me on in under a week. BaT takes 5-8 weeks for normal folks like me to get listed.
When I am consigning a car, I give my customers complete discretion with guidance, and if they opt for BaT I just forewarn them that the wait times are significant.

There are pros and cons to each site, and it doesn't always favor BaT. But for ultra premium prices paid, BaT generally wins.

As a person that makes a living eliminating the need for people and human interaction, its worth something when someone is willing to actually talk to me

Here's my FS post from June....I reconsidered and pulled it off the market a month later. Glad I did. It's such a special driving experience.
