Nothing wrong with that, just my personal observation from tracking this thread for the past couple of months.

It'll be interesting to look back on these prices in a year and see where we're at. Right now, there are a ton of speculators and "collectors" buying these cars and parking them with the hope that the values will continue to increase and they'll be able to sell for a profit later on.
compared to the prices of the 991s (albeit being a faster, larger, more numb and hi-tech model), I don't see 997s coming down much, if at all (if the economy does not factor in)

I emailed asking for a VIN and an asking price. But they responded back saying the car is no longer available.

If one wants to pay 25k over market. Those ads are from owners who have no intention of selling unless they get some crazy price.

Is his price in Canadian dollars? That's under $100k. And it may be 60k kilometers, not miles.

Agreed, but I have no problem with that when it comes to models like the GT3 that have almost no listed inventory. Inflated price listings are very important for market price discovery because they set the price ceiling. When you see a clean car listed for months, it confirms that the true market is at a lower price point.

Not a car currently for sale. Hurley Haywood Edition 997.2 GT3. Definitely not the color scheme I would have chosen, but kinda a cool edition that very few people know about.

IDK if this was an official edition or they just bought a car and converted it to look like this.

not an official Porsche release. This was a black car with silver wheels, red belts and gauges, that someone went to town on. Looks pretty terrible if you ask me.

Supply and demand dictates the market. Auto markets have exploded this year. Even mass produced regular cars are selling super high.

Not even close from what I've seen, but I only have anecdotal info to go off of.

So good luck with that opinion & prediction (I would have normally been right there with ya!),... but somehow, with our Gov't $$ printing machine,... I am now willing to bet that I would be wrong YET again.... and that if there's any pullback in the months/year coming, it will be a small one. That $150k asking price is going to work for that car & seller. He'll get some lowball $130k offers here on Rennlist (enthusiasts who all want a bargain),.. but IF & ONLY IF he decides to get serious about selling, and puts it out there on the mainstream selling outlets (cars-dot-com, autotrader), eventually there will be a buyer willing to pay $145k, and boom, another one off the market.

just my .02
Of course ... he could sell it for $170K today for all we know. The fact that we're calling a $130K offer a lowball is comical in and of itself but that again goes to the echo chamber comment I made earlier. I do appreciate the input and hopefully you're wrong and I'm right ;-). Only one way to find out ... wait and see. Luckily, this isn't a must have for me and I'm willing to roll the dice on eventually paying more (or less, hopefully) later down the road, or having to move on to a 991.2 GT3 instead. Good talk!

I tend to agree. There are 4 .1 cars currently available, not including this one, that have been listed for months and are not moving. The two more "reasonable" ones, if I can call it that are priced at 119k and 129k with 18k and 12k miles respectively. That appears to be the ceiling (for now at least).
