You can't come near pushing the performance envelope of an RS on on public roads without being reckless. All that to say....I think a $25k+ delta between RS and non-RS is reasonable and that's a big enough difference that it will sway some buyers to the base model.
Some of what gives it the $153k sticker is stuff that matters little to many. GT Silver $3140, Carbon fiber which sometimes cracks $1140, PCM 3.0 w/ nav $3110, and the exclusive options $2k. I like GT silver as a color, but I don't know if it's worth a premium after the fact. It DOES have the good bits, FAL, PCCB, DEM, and full leather which I like.. I'd price it as a 21k car w/ no track time and those options. Very nice car. Hey, I'd try for $150. It won't happen, but why not try? If it was a 21k RS it would take some mileage hit. Some.

I don't know what to say about the market. I just looked at a piece of sh*t 1500 sq ft cottage in Laguna Beach that was a nightmare two-story hodgepodge floorplan on a 2400 sq ft lot and an OK view and 15-minute walk to the beach. Beat to crap, teeniest 1 car garage ever, $2m and had multiple offers. TWO MILLION DOLLARS. I've decided to wait.

agreed on all counts,... and yet when we are also starting to see these ask prices for the 991 GT3/RS's,.. well, it can't help but start to influence the 997 ..

Post # 2035 ... $268K !!! - https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...hread-136.html

$150k for the GT Silver 997.2 GT3 seems like a deal in comparison ^^^

I believe the delta, like for like, is greater than $25K, I'd say at least $45K plus. Sheer production numbers alone, make this seem more likely.

I might be and probably am in the minority here, but I would take a clean 997.2 GT3 over a 991.2 GT3 even in a straight up trade.

weren’t the North American 997.2 GT3 and RS production numbers very close? I thought it was within like 100 units. I could be off slightly.
Agree with you that delta is more than 25K now that clean .2 RS under $200k are difficult to find unless they have high mileage or questionable history.

You’re not the only one. I’d do the same.

same here. 997 feels much more visceral.

I gotta agree with you. In fact, I've sold my 991's and still have 997.

I have a feeling someone will pay that price or very close to it. Manual 991.2 are all 180k plus. And .2 RS with no major issues or stories are all approaching or past $200k. The high MSRP certainly helps justify the high prices. I think 997.2 GT3 in lowish miles will sell around MSRP (or even more) in this crazy market.

At the end of the day, if you have a buyer with 120-130k in cash to spend on a car, asking s/he to pluck down another 20k isn’t likely to push that person to walk away when there are literally no inventory available.

In fact if I didn't just buy mine I would seriously consider this one. Won't pay $150 tho :P

Clearly not alone. Wonder aloud whether the 7.1-2 market has a cap in the next 6 months ....

997 GT3/RS is definitely one of the purest 911’s ever along with the 964 RS and the ‘73 2.7 RS I would put on the shortlist.
