Having just purchased my 991.1 S and feeling underwhelmed in the driving experience, Im strongly considering a .2 GT3. Not looking for a show piece, I want to drive it. This thread has helped a ton in knowing a good price point to get into one. Thank you to all who contributed

I was in a similar position to you after purchasing a 997.2 C2S. Besides the car not being as represented by the dealer, the connection that I imagined I would have with the car was just not there. Even though the steering was good, acceleration was quick, transmission (PDK) was good, it almost felt too usable to me. In order for me to actually get any excitement out of it, I felt the car had to be pushed harder than I felt comfortable pushing it on public roads. Otherwise I felt that I should be driving it around town like a normal car.
While the GT3 has higher limits, it has a higher sense of excitement to me, even at neighborhood cruising speeds of 25mph. While some of it may be due to the manual transmission compared to the PDK, a lot of it is the exhaust note, the suspension, the brakes, everything just feels more exciting, no matter what speed or where you're driving. So while you can obviously use it like any other 911 and it is still a very usable car, it feels like it belongs more on a backroad or purposeful driving, rather than it feeling like you should be driving it around town like you would a BMW or Audi.
Best of luck with the search.

I saw your post a couple of days ago and had been meaning to respond.

Thank you. Im exploring whats out there and if something makes sense, Ill probably jump on it. I thought I made up my mind with adding to this 991.1 but I feel I need to go back a generation or two even to get what Im looking for. Porsche made the 991.1 such a good car, I feel its lost some of that rawness Im after.
I know every Porsche enthusiast or really every car enthusiast is constantly saying, this is the last BMW with a dipstick, or the last generation with a metal key, or the last generation with hydraulic steering. That sort of gets old after a while because every car generation is going to bring the last of something. But if you're like me and value some safety features like airbags, ABS, traction control, things that are just going to hopefully keep you alive, but also want an analog driving experience, then I think the 997 cars (or even 996 cars for that matter) are great. 997.2 GT3 is a sweet spot for many with the upgraded looks, LED's, slightly better infotainment, etc.
Either way - ask away any questions and hopefully someone in the GT3 threads will have an answer. Lots of guys that have been around these cars for a very long time that should be able to give you very solid input.

My apologies. The car is on a truck coming to our facility. Asking $104,500. It is not sold yet although we do have quite a bit of interest.

17k-mile Aqua Blue/Red .2 RS. Has PCCB. This color combo is the rarest color combo for the .2 RS with the exception of PTS cars and cars with the DZL customization package. Not my favorite color combo, but rare and I’m sure someone really likes it.
