The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

@RAudi Driver Though very nice (and rare), the $20k folding buckets pushed the financial envelope too far, and I expected the sofa seats would be far more comfortable for multi-hour touring, and hoped for plenty of bolstering. I found them to be every bit of that on the drive home. Oh yeah, and figured way less complaining from my supportive wife when she's out with me....

I love the folding buckets and have spent multiple road trips in them. My wife and I once spent an 18 hour day in them. Overall I find them pretty comfortable. Much more so than the newer fixed buckets.

Can confirm, we did 13 hours in them in one day and didn’t have the least bit of soreness or discomfort throughout. I find them to be more comfortable than the 14 ways I had on my 991, actually.

Alright guys,
I locked up the '07 gt3 from Auto Kennel two hours after it went live on their website 11/10. It's been a long, sleepless last week. One of my sons and I drove up to the Bay on Hwy 1 yesterday. Over the moon at finally, after being a 40-year motorsport enthusiast, reaching my endgame car. Paul at Auto Kennel was absolutely the best. Huge thanks to K @Upscale Audio and D @shrp , you guys helped timing to help make this dream come true. I've been primarily a lurker here for the last decade in this priceless community, finding countless useful bits for my 996.2 c2. In hindsight, there must have been a reason I just days before had passed on another gt3, and missed one other. This car checks all my boxes. That Mezger sound is unlike anything I've ever been behind the wheel (or between my legs) of. I bought it to drive it. It'll probably never be as pristine as it is now, though I'm real picky. No garage queen here. I'd never sat in (much less driven) a gt3, but knew this was it for me, and have been following that 997 market for years. Couldn't be happier.

I had the buckets in my .1 GT3 and loved them. Installed the sofa's before the sale of the car and drove the car with the sofa's and thought, for street driving the sofa's rule the day. They are so comfortable and supportive for street and mild canyon driving.

Good luck getting that for that car. It's peppered. But if they do get it, then I'll sell mine for that price in a heartbeat.

yes @mikes70 ! Our stories to get to these cars seem very similar and you were about a week ahead of me, though you had a much longer road trip back home. Love the cobalt blue. I'm also in the East Bay. Sure we'll cross paths in the future!

if you want to offload your GT3 to a fellow rennlister (non dealer) for personal enjoyment, LMK! I love that spec.
Meant to quote @hamhands about his cobalt .1 as he contemplates a .1 RS

IF I decided to let it go I would warn you it wouldn't be cheap, but would obviously prefer it going to a RL'er over a dealer!
