I firmly believe the above 2 comments are very true and fortunately for the buyer in the room worked very good for him.

I was shocked that it went that cheap. 144K with fees for a nice .2. Sure the miles were higher but they were all put on by one owner over the last 11 years who maintained this car very well. Maybe the color and lack of options held it back but at 50k mikes, who cares. It’s a driver.

I have a similar mileage and spec’d car for sale (no full leather on mine and although mine was spec’d with PCCB, they were not included), and mine had 9 owners prior to me. I think I might be keeping mine until the spring

Can always get lucky, that being said but Ive been watching BAT auctions around the holidays for years. I bought my Dec 4 and I talked to the one guy bidding against me, he said he didn’t even want the car he was bored bidding and was surprised he was even in the running.
BAT has some tools to give you an idea of engagement the dealers can refer, however they are there to play to the averages. Hence why you see some of these guys hold cars over priced on their sites until later dates.
Pcar warned me I could pull more $$ a month later for my cream puff but I wanted to get it off my plate and they told me the only lever I really had to raise engagement was to lift reserve, but that is gambling. So I ran that Pcar Christmas auction (12/15) w/out reserve, I was told my engagement was very very low despite donating 5% of the auction.
I was even offered $3k more than it sold at auction a few weeks earlier by a dealer, that’s why I was so convinced an a holiday auction was a good idea, nope.
I can pull specifics, but Laurence knows I like to bid on cars this time of year looking for that one day no one else is paying attention… last year I kicked myself because I missed those $6k CGT seats and that 9k mile Grey .2 went for $145.
to make a long post even longer I think holiday season is a good time for enthusiasts to buy because there are less window shoppers

The Black .1RS that was at Champion no too long ago, was purchased by Red9114me back at the ned of October or Nov 1, iirc. I know that @Chris.C was looking at it and @Hamhands also stated that he was eyeing it also. We originally know that Red9114me purchased it because he had a reply that said something to the tune of, "It was me" shortly after Chris C stated in post #17306. "Unfortunately the black/black 997.1 RS at Champion just sold yesterday . I was a tad late, but I guess it's back to the search for me".
Red9114me's reply's have all been deleted, which is not cool for the members trying to keep track of these vehicles.
The thread on this topic picks back up on post 17336 where Lawrence replies to Red9114me's missing post; "Why did you dump yours so quickly?" You can read on from there. If fact you can still see Red9114me's posts on the other members quoted replies.
The real issue here is:
Why is Rennlist deleting posts by members who flip cars. Are they trying to help said members by erasing the paper trial? Are they getting paid to do it? I have a lot more to say about this topic, but will leave it here until a discussion is under way.
We as members should be very upset about this. Preferential treatment? Who knows, but it does tear down this valuable thread the members have been building over the years.
Page 1154 of this thread should put you in a good spot to verify what is happening under our noses.
