The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
Oh that was the other thing, Brad the rep I was working with said he would look into it but texted that he couldn't find one - so I left it at that. Which also reminds me to anyone who is interested in this vehicle the reps from Bentley of Seattle know nothing about this vehicle's history besides its prior owner and knew/ knows nothing about the modifications thats been done to this vehicle. If anyone in the forum is interested I can give them a more detailed low down and whats been done and a deeper prior history - I did about 8 hours of research on that vehicle and can trace its lineage to at least Mecum where I saw some gross (bunch of dirt and dust) interior photos...

425k? 425k?
Someone's trying to get rich. We all thought the hammer price at Gooding was optimistic given all the modifications.

By the way, Adam from Pcar left me a message earlier today...really hoping it's that the owner of this GT3 fell in love with my M Roadster on the site and wants to work out a trade.

I see that the highly modified car started life as a Canadian example. Is there anything particularly difficult about importing a 997 gt3rs from Canada to the US? I get it may not be California registrable. But could it be a 49 state car without too much difficulty? There is a .1 I know of in Canada that I’d like, but have not considered it because I assumed I couldn’t bring it in before 25 yrs old…

So much wrong information here.
North American cars are all the same, 25 year rule never applied. All you need it a letter of compliance that PCNA will gladly supply you.
You pay your import duty fee and state sales
tax and registration and that’s it. Cars go back and forth the boarder all the time. They are 50’state compliant and the speedo can be set with the digital part to read MPH, so no need to even have that modified.
You can buy new and used and it’s basically like buying from any other state.
oh and Carfax now works for USA and Canada showing on the same reports.

One note about CarFax that is worth pointing out in response to @cosmos is that formerly you wouldn't get quite as detailed of results of a Canadian car by using a US CarFax account. There is also a Canadian CarFax product that has more granular information about cars north of the border. What I'm not sure is whether or not that has changed recently, but US CarFax has 'worked' for quite some time on all North American cars, just won't give you the full details possible on those north of the border. I am a CarFax Advantage dealer for the record, meaning I have subscribed to CarFax for a number of years and do buy cars from Canada with some regularity. I have compared CarFax results with both the US and Canadian based products and they formerly did give you different levels of detail. I haven't tried in a few months, so don't know if anything has changed recently, to @cosmos possible point.
