I get the concept of wanting to get into a “driver” without paying taxes. I know a few guys with them… but do you think it’s ultimately because the 991.1 touring has the same production numbers (a little lower afaik) as the 997 RS and an unassuming future collector?
Saw the Midnight Blue 997 GT3 on BaT posted here. Wanted to share what I found and posted in a different thread on here. Maybe someone with a richer history on BaT can make a comment on the auction and get the details since they don't want me posting anymore.
I saw VIN WP0AC29917S792814 pop up from 911r, who I thought was very well respected. I posted a comment asking about the accident that shows up on 911r's dealership/the Avant Garde CarGurus listing for this car via AutoCheck since the BaT listing shows accident free. 911r flagged my comment, had it deleted by BaT mods, and the mods won't allow me to post anymore. Pretty disappointing. I know the AutoCheck could be wrong and the accident says no damage, but it is definitely something that needs to be addressed on a car like this, especially when advertised as accident free. Seems like they're sweeping it under the rug to make a top BaT seller happy. Links to the auction, listing, and screenshot showing accident are below.

"The last manual GT3RS ever made". Ignorance or just try to pump up the ad with a statement they know is false?

Could be a comprehensive claim? Run over something that fell from a truck in front of you and all your tires pop? Insurance gets you all new tires but technically there is no damage?

I drove into my garage wth my bike on the roof. It was Collision!
Comprehensive is stuff like fire theft and vandalism.
I could see a situation where car gets into an accident, police arrive and generate a police report and then the car gets fixed off the books. I think both the DMV and the insurance company has the ability to ding the carfax report.

That would still fall under a collision claim. Anytime wheels are rolling it's collision. Is addition what many would think would fall under a comprehensive policy that actually falls under your collision policy is:Your car is parked and someone hits it and takes off. Collision!

It's always a good idea to run an auto check, car fax doesn't always catch everything, big thanks to the member who posted that auto check regarding that blue 997.1

Makes sense, many years ago in my daily driver I was passing a 18 wheeler tire popped and hit my car at 80mph and it went under comprehensive. I guess it's up to the insurance company like you mentioned.

Also agree on the new member who posted that. Now just want to hear the sellers side. Why flag the comment and get it deleted?

This is the car that’s for sale at Porsche Monterey. Special pricing for the Porsche 911 Buy and Sell group on Facebook I guess. Suspect the “minor damage” ding on the Carfax is holding this one back.
