I heard before I got there that COTA is easy on the tires, translation :The surface of the track is slippery and needs more events to wear and grip.
as far as the 996 gt3, which belongs to a friend , it is done, we still don't know why, he told me that someone behind him named Randy has a video of it, Chris and I came looking for the video at the end of the day but he was gone...so if you are here can you please post that clip.....
I do have the video....the Greek and I were right behind him, typically do not post acciednt videos. If he is your buddy and OK with me posting I will. Please ask his permission

I took Steves car out on Hoosier (Ive only driven three laps in my life on Hoosier prior to this). first lap did a 2:27, then 2:28s in traffic. Segmented out the track and a clean well driven lap should be a high 2:25. My TBL was a low 2:26

Based on the lap times from people who switched tires, the gap sounds like it's exactly like it should be from a Hoosier to a RA1 all season on a 2:30 lap with quite a bit of steady state. You guys are just starting to see how mediocre those tires are. Especially mismatch, vs a tire with some real grip.

Sounds like LG expected everyone to know who he was and exit the racing surface when he came by. I would never have pointed him by if he acted like that.....

BTW, here is Skeen in an ACR

I talked to LG on Friday, seemed like a super nice guy. I wasn't in his run group so I can't comment on the driving.

I can comment on the fact that the car didn't make it through the second day. With 5-7 minutes left in his session I saw him limping the car around the track, they brought it into the pits and put it on the trailer. I didn't get a chance to talk to him when he left...

Does anyone know what car puked the oil in the paddock and the pit lane?

Sorry, Rene. It's the best SD out there, IMO, but not yet available in HD.

AiM will have ED (Enhanced Definition, 720P) in a few months, but the only HD solution I sell is Traqmate GoPro Hero 2/ReplayXD 1080.

I think considering the compromises required using HD (space, file size, "assembly" and hardware processing time and requirements)make HD not the most desirable for a quick, clean, uncomplicated "intelligent video" (data overlaid real time) solution for speedy review and especially side-by-side comparison of on-track video.

Let me know if I can help.

Does anyone have a sense as to how much time gain the Hoosiers or other slicks would add over a street/track tire like an MPSC at COTA? Thanks

Best example is our Steve's car. He couldn't break a 2:34 with NT01's (which imo is more grippy than MPSC). His first session out in R6's, he ran a 2:28. Couldn't believe how well the track responded to slicks and R6's.

I think it was just a general issue of radial R comps. None of our cars had grip. NT01, RA1, or MPSC.

Wow. Huge difference. Thanks. Makes me feel better that at 2.33 with no move to close the gap, I was still on the pace.

That seemed to be the pace. Fastest I could get on RA1's was 2:29:00. Rest of us were in the 2:31-32 range. I'm sure with more track time we would find faster lines.

Shane Lewis did 2:21 in the Porsche Supercup, on his first session out Friday. There is your new target. :-)

Wow, that's 17 seconds faster than Sebastian Vettel ran in Formula 1. I had no idea P-cars could be that fast.

In fairness to the NT01, I never got anywhere near a clean lap with those on the car. That being said, the Hoosiers made the track fun instead of a battle. I went out in front of the group with only a Cup Car and Track Toyz CRX and we got a number of good laps.
