I'm not sure if anyone that is at COTA is actually still reading this thread, but anyone from RL interested in meeting up at 5p in the media center for 10 minutes?
Small meet and greet to put names with faces. Too many people here, too many rungroups. Hard to tell who is who.
Even better idea...
After we meet, why don't we take our cars out to the outside parking lot where the COTA sign is and do a group pic there?

I think it's 35 cars/group, but they don't space you out at all at the beginning which annoys me...

But Chin is a possibility. I will be doing 3 days for NASA if they have it and 3 more days for NARRA.

Jenks kicked *** at TWS. 1:52.x his final session. Pretty quick for his first day there, all things considered!

Fun at COTA
Geez, we were going to post video, but then we tripped and fell into a keg of beer.....
This morning, first session on street tires (MPSS), 2:37.x was best I could do:
Since developing talent takes hard work and time, I put on slicks instead for 2:31.x:
A big THANK YOU to Rennlist's own Nugget, who provided coaching last session of the day. With his excellent suggestions to improve line (and driving), I will be chasing the 2:30 barrier tomorrow......

Track was a lot more fun with Hoosiers. Thought the NT01's were pretty bad on this surface. Went from 2:34.xx to 2:28.88. Someone with actual skill could easily do a 2:25.xx
I won't rush back but certainly a good time. They need to figure out how to run a DE at COTA. Red flags for every spin. Full course waving yellow for a broken car off track in the esses. It was ridiculous.
Good to meet some more RLers.
Austin was a fun town too. Strange being at a track with so much available to do when the track goes cold. W Hotel bar with Greek, El Matador and Jenks was an experience.

Burning Brakes
The 996 hit the guardrail on the left side of turn 4 pretty hard. I didn't see it happen but it was sitting in the paddock afterwards. It looked like a write off to me, but hopefully not.
I saw the aftermath of the Viper as well, but the damage look pretty light. Front end had a few cracks in it.
Aside from a few incidents, what a fun weekend! I'll post some videos up later with a more detailed recap. Best I could manage on Michelin Pilot Super Sports was a 2:34.x. I was working on a 2:33 according to my predictive lap timer but I ran into traffic at turn 19. Most folks were on race rubber from what I could tell.
