I agree it is a mess, for him. Now the sport can rebuild itself , but it needs a new Hero. I hope ultimately he can pay his dues and become a positive contributor. I just want to see "Mellow Johnny's" so that I might have a better sense for who he really is. Allan

As a long time cyclist/triathlete at this point his best contribution to cycling in my opinion would be to put a lid on it. I can understand the doping to some extent but the vehement aggressive attacking denying name calling of others has no place in sport. In the big scheme of things Lance only truly cares about Lance. Sorry for the off topic rant.

Is anyone going from east Florida? Orbit at one point had 5 or 6 people and now it's maybe down to 2. So just checking to see if there's enough to warrant a group ride out to Austin. Thanks

Called AutoTek for fuel - they were helpful (thanks for the heads up TrackToyz).

Another question or two for the local folks: What's the traffic like to the track from downtown in the mornings? Is is worth staying at one of the MVP recommended hotels closer to the track? Any other recommendations?

Many thanks.

There are a zillion options around the airport, all about the same. That's very close to the track. The Hilton at the airport is nice, but charges for parking.

I like The Casulo Hotel which is about 15 minutes from the track (a little less if you take the toll road) and very nice.

Downtown isn't very convenient to the track.

Thanks Von. I just missed your post. Staying downtown might be too good...& less so for getting to the first run group I may move there for Sun.

Thanks also for the Casulo Hotel recommendation! The wife will enjoy it there, I think.

I understand cant run full speed all day and night for three days. anyway the hotel is great and for those bringing wives the views are great you can almost touch the capital building at night when its lit up. ask for that view. if people are interested i could block some rooms and try and set up a rate I practically live in Starwood hotels over a 100 nights last year.

Spoke to a buddy today that was at the Drivers Edge event 2 weeks ago. He was told he could not bring in his own water or food as well as fuel for the car. Trying to conform this but he is a reliable source. Did anyone else hear this?
