Any thought on this car? 2008 S 6MT with 84k on the clock, asking $31k

https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/...564391480.html

I'm weighing this against the identical car at my local dealer, for $48k with 36k mi.

I've been looking in the market for a 997 quite a while now and this 2008 S is a killer deal! I would jump on it and get a PPI.

Which one? The CL with 84K or the dealer with 36K? I'm actually leaning towards the dealer one. It'd take me 5+ years to put on 50k mi.

I think $48k for a 997.1 is nuts personally. If you have a $48k budget I would look for a 997.2 3.6L or possibly a higher mile S. The CL car looks nice but as mentioned get a PPI with bore scope. If it checks out and you can buy that car for under $30k it would be an incredible deal and leave you with some money for upgrades/repairs.

I was talking about the car with 84k, if it takes you more than 5 years to drive 50k miles then this car would make more sense. I'm buying one as a daily driver so I need to find lower mileage cars. For $48k you can get a 997.2 with less than 50k miles as mentioned.

Yeah, I bitched about it on the 991 forum.

There is a backdoor link to the "old" CPO locator though, it is in a thread over on the 991 forum.

They must have changed it to favor "local" cars over the cars that we enthusiasts want to find. I don't care if my local dealer has 3 base models, all with PDK and no performance options, in black with beige leather. I want sapphire blue, sport design package, with 18-ways, S-PASM and PSE. The new site doesn't allow people to search for those cars.

Works pretty well for me. Did you miss that there are more filters for transmission type, color family and keywords for entering things like PSE, PDSL, PASM, GT3 etc?

Search criteria: 4S and Sport Exhaust
search criteria of 4S and sport exhaust

100 results: accurate

1137 4S models with PSE?

pretty sure these aren't 4S models

Did you check the results? I just ran a search through the old engine for 991: I clicked on 4S trim and Sport Exhaust System: 100 results (accurate). I then went to the "new and improved" site, searched in the Keyword "4S Sport Exhaust" and it returned a whopping 1137 cars! The first page had one 4S model; it did have PSE. The rest were all bogus. Posted the screenshots above

I was just going to post this one...no Carfax so it's hard to tell but looks clean. Could be a great deal.
