By the way, I've said in the past that build sheets can be super janky and flat out incorrect at times. But has anyone ever seen one like this?!

Only way I can describe it is being akin to a Chinese Rolex knockoff. The wording is very strange/inconsistent with other options I've seen in the past:

"Electronically Adjustable Seats" vs "Power Seats"
"Front Seat Ventilation" vs "Ventilated Seats (Front)" or
"Rear Lights in Clear Glass Optics" vs "Rear Lights Clear"

Also there are html errors in the text itself and one line item just has an "x" next to it.

Does anyone know how or why this happens? Are they input manually and this poor car just had an intern on their first day?

Do you guys find that the 997.2 market has really firmed up. I have been watching for 2yrs and I think the prices have crept up a fair amount.

Dealers have lots of 991s in used inventory but scant 997.2s. When they get them in they go out quick. Nice builds with moderate mileage and service history get good money.

I took this one off the market today. They were asking a pretty penny and I was not able to get a huge discount, but I am super excited to take delivery next week. 1 owner (Single older female's country house car that was traded in on a new sedan) with only 14k miles on the clock. Not a huge options list, but like new. And exactly the type of previous owner I was looking for. I think it was for sale for 4 days.

After looking and watching for the last 2 years, this market has gotten a little crazy. Felt like I had to act fast and I think the small premium will be an afterthought in a few years time. Cheers!

Default 2007 C4S Cabrio

Not sure if anyones posted this one- In Pleasanton, cA

I almost bought this car- it's pretty nice. manual, low miles, black on black with nice black rims, red seat belts, nice silver accents in the interior, sport chrono, heated seats. THey've had it at least 5 or 6 weeks now, they offered me $42,300 but I had just bought another car because they wanted to play the game too long. Drives really nice too.

I was thinking of selling my super clean 997.2 C2S 6MT with 12k miles and getting something with higher mileage as a DD, maybe a Cayman S. Anyways, I called 2 local dealers, neither were interested in consigning the car, and they didn't seem too interested in even having it on their lot. Seems like neither stock any 911's anymore; it's all about the soccer-mom SUV. One of the sales guys wondered if there would be any demand for a manual.....

I would agree. There is very, very little clean inventory, especially in a manual. We are at that sweet spot where everyone who has one probably has the car paid off or otherwise doesn't need to sell it. Since they are relatively inexpensive to maintain and insure, they aren't getting traded in as often. If it is appreciating and still fun to drive, why not keep it?

I would say even finding a PDK that is well spec'd with under 30k miles is challenging. Not everyone wants the same options, but if you want to find one with full leather and sport adaptive seats, it is proving to take some time. Then if someone adds in PASM, or sport exhaust, and sport chrono, then you might be waiting a while, however, I do believe the wait is worth it for the right car.

If it helps anyone; in my search, I found the following:

Sport Chrono is fairly easy to find: probably 65% of the manuals have them

PASM: standard on the S/4S, rare on the base models. SPASM is rare on anything.

Full leather: not uncommon, maybe 40% of builds? Definitely nice to have, not something easy to add later.

Sport Exhaust: very rare, maybe 5-10% of builds? It also is the least consequential. A Gundo/Fister setup can be added to any car

Adaptive Sport Seats: also rare, maybe 15% of builds? They are nice, especially those of us with slender endurance-athlete frames. Can be added however at a later date.

When searching, I looked for a car that had adaptive sport seats, full leather, sport chrono, and a manual. A great car at the right price came along with all but sport seats, and I don't regret the purchase. If I want later on, they are easy enough to add: they come up for sale used now and then. Sport Chrono is nice, I personally like the clock. Full leather really updates the car. Lack of a manual is a deal breaker

I did find the perfectly spec'd car with everything I wanted, but it was $7500 more than I paid.
