997s deals around the interwebz (no affiliation)
All the other subforums have a "hot deals" thread. Do you mind if I start one? I am trolling for a 997 to buy this winter. I would like you to ruin my imaginary perfect cars as I post them and maybe somebody spots something nice?
Really liking this 997.2 c2s except for the interior which is stone grey, and not full leather. http://www.usedcarsgroup.com/used-20...cb29989s754141 WP0CB29989S754141 https://a.tcimg.net/vehicle-images/i...-600.jpg?idx=4 https://a.tcimg.net/vehicle-images/i...-600.jpg?idx=6 Is anybody familiar with this particular car? I spent most of yesterday in New Haven and could have easily gone seen this car, but alas I only spotted the ad today. |
My favorite color on a P-car for sure.. I had a Cayman in that exact color combo (blue/grey) and loved it.
|
Great idea
Good idea to start a 997 for sales thread....
|
We have the exact same car as the one advertised!
|
love that color... don't mind stone grey as well but full leather definitely makes a huge difference.
|
Looks nice but for the price try to get sport Crono, makes a big difference. High many miles? Gray interior is fine with me, mine is two tone black and gray.
|
The two-tone with black is actually fine with me. I am also oogeling this black on black/grey 997.1 (2006) with full leather (tiptronic):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/porsche-911-...torefresh=true https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDI3WDY0M...VWBkAC/$_4.JPG And a similar one just black on black: http://www.ebay.com/itm/porsche-911-...item3ab5b9367f http://photos3.automanager.com/01660...9cbd54_640.jpg Neither have the striking beauty of just the right kind of blue on your 997, though. Not to mention all the 997.2 upgrades not even counting the engine. |
If u can make the $$ work, stick with a .2 even without full leather. The dfi engine is amazing.

Better title attempt committed :) Didn't realize it looked like I had some for sale.

Car looks nice, good luck. I personally would have a body shop check out any car after a PPI.
When I was looking, I found a couple of nice cars. Clean car fax. Both had bodywork done at some point. I learned some of the work is hard to see. This is especially true when you are excited and emotional about the purchase. For me, I found it better to distance myself and let the guys who know check it out. B |
just bought my 06 997s a few months back, but would sell it. wanting a track only car.

How common is it to request that a PPI includes taking off the bumpers to inspect the collapsible, hollow metal structures behind them?
It is a matter of money I guess. Taking of the rear bumper takes 20 minutes max if you are slow. Front takes a bit longer. There is no need for me if there are no obvious signs as not consistent gaps, no proper fit of hood, deck lid, marks of tape for cheap repairs ... But if the repair has been executed properly it is unlikely you will see any marks from it when the bumpers are removed. If the car is from 2007 and you see labels from 2012 on the front radiators that might ring the bell. My focus would be on the engine first, if that has been confirmed to be OK, I would let it check out on the lift and make a testdrive. If you are new to 997 I would take a very experienced 997 person with you who knows these cars in and out! |
