Thanks for the pic - the gauges look great!! I agree with you - pulling the gauge hands off is more like a watch makers job. Not for a guy like me!
From the looks of your wheel, the leather strip on mine looks less porous maybe? Yours looks like an alcantara texture and mine seems like dyed leather? It's going to take me a while to put 40,000 miles on it, but I will check back!

Great looking car!
That's about what I've heard about swapping the gauges. Getting the dash out is a job in itself but that's just the beginning. As you say, based on feedback I've read you need close to a watch maker's skills to be successful with the rest.
For the steering wheel, as similar as ours are, it looks like yours is solid leather all the way around. Mine being a GTS with alcantera bits and pieces here and there I decided to keep that trend going when having the wheel redone. The factory GTS steering wheel is all alcantera, a bit skinny for my big hands and word has it that it doesn't wear well with time so I decided on a combination of alcantera and perforated leather for the parts of the wheel getting the most wear and made it a little fatter too. It's worked out well. The alcantera on the wheel has held up a lot better than the red stripe

you can swap the cluster, change the faceplate and change the hands. Basic skill needed. Not very hard and no dash removal needed
Met a cool fellow Rennlister and bought his unused Recaro pole positions plus’s his sliders and bases. I told myself I wouldn’t do race seats again and I already have alcantera GT3 seats. But I’m a sucker for loosing weight, GT3 seats are so dang heavy. Now I’d like to do white gauge faces to go with the white Recaro on the seats 🤷🏻♂️🍻

Ok, good to hear. I've read horror stories here and elsewhere about this swap. Just curious though, was looking at my cluster today and scratched my head trying to figure out how you get to the gauge cluster without taking the dash apart?

PSE stopped working, so I took off the rear bumper cover and heat shield. So much easier than the front bumper cover! I think I’ve got a vacuum leak in the valve actuator, so new ones are on order.
The pad was for me to lay on, but it got poached (pooched?) pretty quickly.

2006 with about 58,000 miles. Now I'm starting to second-guess the cause of the issue, though... I'll do some research and start up another thread if I can't find the answer.
