New pads and rotors on all 4 corners. I used Porterfield R4-S pads and they feel great so far. Better early bite and they are not fully bedded yet. Good time to inspect the suspension too.

Replaced engine mounts. 67k miles on the originals. Wow was the rubber sagging!

Did my mounts today too at 63k. Worn like yours. Took me 45 minutes screwing around, super easy job. Big payoff too, shifts very nicely now and overall feels tight and responsive. Porsche mounts used.

Let us know about the dust from the Porterfields in the coming weeks?
I am really not happy with the bite on my Hawk Ceramic Pads and would give up some dust next time to get better performance.
But I don't want black wheels after every drive either...

Uh oh. Sorry to hear you're not happy. I haven't tried Hawk Ceramics for my 997. I had those pads on my S2000 and they gave up nothing in bite but reduced dust quite a lot. Are you just going to hang in there with them or are they so bad you need to swap them out? I'm hoping to find a solid, lower brake dust pad for the brake/rotor R&R I'll need to do before year end...

Anyone know where/if you can purchase the cover for the tow hook opening? Thanks.

Is yours a 997.1 or 997.2? I used these folks for a replacement cover for my wife's Volvo and, although not cheap ($105 shipped) the product and service were outstanding:

997.1. looking for a color match for macadamia brown metallic. I looked at the painted parts website, looks like they only have them for a 997.2. what are the odds it will fit a .1. I'll give them a call. thanks.

I installed Hawk Ceramics on my wife's 2009 Carrera S, along with brand new rotors, and wasn't happy with the initial bite either when compared to OE pads. With that experience in mind, I installed Carbotech 1521 pads on my 2012 Carrera GTS and couldn't be happier. While they seem to dust a little more than the Hawks, it's not nearly as bad as the OE pads and the feedback is much better than the Hawks.

My only complaint with cocoa is the interior brown carpet is too light compared to the dark richness of the leather color, but some diamondcarmats that ciler almost all the interior carpeting easily resolve that
Agree! Also, It’s amazing (at least to me) how natural grey looks way more rich/better compared to standard black.
