German888 - Great info on the shifter, thanks! How hard would it be for an amateur to install Numeric cables at home without a lift? Numeric has pretty clear instructions on the website. The best I can do is four jack stands. Alternatively, I could probably get it done by some acquaintances with a shop for $200. I'd like to do it myself if it won't keep the car on jack stands for a week while I stumble through.

Thanks. It was a fun project for sure. Here is how my car looked when I did the install. Absolutely no need for a lift. As long as your able to get under it on your back it's very doable. PM me for a more detailed explanation of how to install the cables. I can save you a ton of time and headache. I've come up with a solution which is 10 times easier to execute. I've now done 3 of these el cheapo SSK kits with Numeric cables for fellow PC car owners in my area after they drove my car. It's a dramatic difference...

Put the new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on yesterday. Grip is great, ride is smooth, and noise is quiet.

New battery and FVD exhaust installed. Really wakes up the sound of the engine. Quiet at cruise but when you give it throttle input it barks nicely. Probably not GF or wife approved though unless she likes that type of thing. It still needs to break in the packing so it will mellow out some in 1k miles or so.

Default if you wouldn't mind,

Then will be delivered back to me in an enclosed trailer. Enjoyed meeting Nick from Oakes, very helpful, took time to answer my questions, clearly knows his stuff. The pictures they post of their work on McLarens, Porsches, Lambo etc. looks amazing, so I cannot wait till I get the car back. Hopefully we'll have true spring by then, none of this cold white crap all over the ground anymore....

Default 2008 997 Purchase

Hello, Just purchased my second 911. 1st was a 2006 911S, my 2nd is a 2008 911. Happy to be back, it's been a couple of years since my last post. So excited to be back on the road. Bought a base model 911 w/ 23K for miles. Was so nervous about the IMS issues, that I bought a 5 year 60K warranty! Hoping that 2008 was better than 2006-2007. Although allegedly the same IMS bearing, I was told they made sound minor engine improvements which I question. Does anyone know if ANY changes were made to the 3.6 engine at all?
