Just went out with everything closed up and it still didn't work. I suppose I should try with the car running (not just on). But I'm not sure what's going on.. 12v to both the camera wires off the power harness and nothing happens.. I did set the module dip switch for oem reverse camera and then when I hit the trigger wire it swaps to pcm (which would show backup camera if I had OEM one).. Man this is really bugging me. I just want to get it going and get everything mounted and cleaned up

The hardware for Joy Auto and the NM kits are different just by looking at them. The 9xx kit looks similar to the Nm kit although the interface is branded slightly differently.

Joy uses the nav button and disables factory nav, the other uses the info button.

Joy also requires an additional 12volt power line, which NM and I suppose 9XX, do not, as they get native power from the head unit plug.
the back up camera was no problem , with NM.

Has anyone found a rear camera that replaces one of license plate lights, that will also work with the NM/9xx solutions? Something like this (although, I don’t know if this one will fit a 997)

The joy unit doesn't disable the factory nav. It still functions, to swap from carplay to pcm is a long press of the nav button.. Hopefully they can figure out the issue.

If anyone has anything else to try let me know

Update: it is now working. There's an additional dipswitch I needed to have turned on (4). Once I turned that on it all worked.. It's late now so I just tested but appears to be working well. No turning angle or anything tho just the grid lines from the camera.

Just need to hide the unit somewhere and get all my wiring cleaned up and hidden away. Happy to have this working like it should.

I’ve seen a two reviews where the PCM sat nav ceased to function with the joyauto units, at least here in the UK.

Odd it would take away nav. To be honest I haven't used it since it was all installed but accidentally I hit a destination on the nav screen and it started the guidance. Either way I'm happy it's working well for me.

Anyone have a good write up to wiring the rear camera?

Also what functions does your steering wheel controls do. Seems like I just have volume, mute and phone. Right roller ball doesn’t do anything. Fine with it if it’s how it is supposed to be. Would prefer it to work.

reverse trigger debugging (may or may not apply to you depending if the canBus unit installed can properly decode, the reverse singla. mine couldnt so i had to steal it directly from the rear tail light

Super easy +- 10MN, the rca cable has at the end a small cable of +-10cm, one connects to the box, the other to the camera (compared to the other kit more complicated), I passed the cable on the side, there is an exit behind the rear light and here it is
