to do a test, u just insert it in the hole - but for a permanent solution you will need the proper wire tool - or soldier it in directly.
Im considering releasing a harness + cable kit + camera kit - which will include whats necessary to get a clean non-shared GND connection for the camera itself - minimizing (almost all) splicing.

will likely offer a harness as well to allow the pccm+ to connect to a regular amp via rca outputs also.

did you both end up powering the reverse cam from (switched) pin 8 while feeding the reverse trigger to pin6?
i know @svandamme got it to work this way, but @maxw unit didnt (it still provided switched power, but not to the proper voltage.

You’d have to pop the cover off of the plug. Snip the wire at position 2. Peel back the covering of the cable enough to reach. Attach that wire to 10 pin plug into position 4. Reassemble the plug and tape up the cable. Plug the two plugs in. You then have a rear usb for charging or media.
The above is with reference to the Subaru cable. The media box works for me as it is (in the phone socket only and as storage / charging).
Cover unclips with precision screw driver. Front unclips.
Buy a 10 pin plug from eBay. Connect to pin 4. Get rid of the extra wires. All made easier if you have a pin removal tool.

Correct. Only from the socket marked “phone” if you use the 996 media box. Other two ports do nothing.
If you don’t want redundant sockets, you can achieve the same by buying a Subaru USB cable (it has that brown plug on it). But you have to connect the +ve wire from that cable to the pin 4 of the 10 pin socket if you want to do that (otherwise there is no power). I had bought that cable and a 10 pin socket, which I would have gone ahead with if CarPlay worked. I’m not bothered though about usb for media or charging in glovebox, so abandoned that. Beebman made a diagram of the 10 pin above. I also provided a link to the Subaru cable higher up (much cheaper than buying the media box and no redundant ports. I bought the media unit to see if there was anything else inside). I’d guess with the right firmware and tweaks to the Porsche Android skin (or tricking it with firmware it’s a 996 unit, A2 hardware) the media box would work. I would doubt either will become available. Cheers.

I just want to be sure I'm following this correctly. If you are using the subaru option, with the 997 PCCM+, you can get charging and media-reading from a USB via the back AND the front will still function for CarPlay?

fyi, for folks having issues with the sd nav card - I exchanged with suncoast today and these will be handled on a one by one basis, working with your dealer. They need to log a ticket. There won’t be a recall apparently

Would it be safe to say that any state that is alphabetically below New York won’t be on the list? If so, I’d like to reach out to Gaudin now before I do the install, but I’m guessing they’re going to want me to wait and install first. I wonder what the remedy is from Porsche? If many states aren’t showing up, I’d hope we could just send them back and get a new/revised one.

My honest opinion - there are enough issues with these new radios that I think Porsche is only willing to acknowledge problems when it’s confirmed by a dealer. In fact, Suncoast has now updated their site to say that installation (of at least the 955 radio) is required by an actual Porsche dealer. I’m actually a 957 owner (I came here because y’all have figured out more than we have) and there’s an acknowledged bug when installing the Cayenne PCCM in the ‘08. But every time I reported it back to Suncoast for guidance, I’m told to have my dealer do the install. However, my dealer quoted me $1200 to install a radio that Porsche themselves estimates at 1.2 hours of work.
I’m going to the parts shop at my local dealer later this week and will ask them about the card. I’m hoping they’ll just raise a ticket so I can get my card replaced.

Just had my PCCM+ installed today.
Farley at Eurotech Motorsports in Natick, MA did an exceptional job. I gathered all the info in this Google doc, hopefully it will be helpful to other people.

Good thing you had all those graphics and documentation in 1 place to gather from, right?
"Another image from some other guy’s installation."
At least you could have credited where you got it from

Copyright is not the point, its just rude to just take a source, repackage it and not credit it.
And then come to the place where the info originally came from to show how you gathered up all info??
At the very least link back to the original DIY thread and the discussion thread, where you got all the information from in the first place
