What did you do to your 996TT today?

Thanks buddy! You may even see it in person if you have the time...
I agree with that statement - wayyyyy better than with a 245/18 front, which I think looked terrible. Very curious about how the ride will be.

Love the 19's, but I'll conserve the original look and stay with the 18's.

This conversion is an engineering exercise designed to increase traction; if it fails, a front diff will be going back on.
The 245 / 305 19 setup has about as much sidewall as the 18's so you don't lose ride quality but they are pretty tall especially the 305 rear is 26.3 inches. The combo has massive grip too.
Thanks John, very much appreciated.
I have only installed the drivers side, so the car is lop sided towards the passenger side - I cannot get in there with how it's parked, so I'll have to wait until the weekend to move it, or else I run the risk of upsetting the very sensitive engineers noses as they will complain about burning hydro carbons in the building...
I suspect the gap will disappear slightly once the car is balanced again.
Easy way to check for rubbing in the rear is to jack up the car, disconnect the rear shock from the wheel carrier, place a jack under the wheel assembly and then jack it up It into the wheel well.
Thank you for the reminder - I'll get everything sorted come the weekend.
Cheers,

The ride will be better. The tire technology is a lot better with all the newer offerings in 19s for these cars. Always make sure you get an N-spec tire or an XL in the rear.

Based on my experience with P4S the 991, I suspect they will also be much quieter than the 660s.

are there better 19 tire options now? i sold my 19s because i couldn't get a decent matching tire set five years ago.

Michelin has the PS4 and R compound in that size, tire rack has a bunch of options.
I think a lowered car on 18's looks "better" to me, than one at normal ride height with 19's. I've tried both in the past, and prefer 18's in both looks and handling. Tire choices are sure not improving though. I ditched the Falken's in the rear this summer opting instead for the P Zero's all around.
Bled the brakes last night. I used the power bleeder but kept the tank dry and vented and re-filled master cylinder between calipers. It is much slower than pumping the pedal but allows for an easier task by not having to worry about air getting back in the fittings. I don't have a record of when the fluid was last changed but only saw minimal discoloration and particles in the tubing output. I did not mess with the scan tool and ABS pump bleeding.
