Finally got time to get back into my car that went into sleep mode so the keyless entry didn't work.
Found that the drivers door key lock cylinder is either not connected or broken.
Opening the engine lid with the emergency cable the alarm goes off for a long time.
The frunk emergency cable was either bound up or not functional and broke.
You can get at the battery and disconnect the Neg cable by simply removing (cutting off ) the wiper/windshield cowl and using a long extension and a wobble socket
Least I didn't have to break the window and the cowl was fading anyway
Also the 5 day turning off keyless entry WHY Porsche??

I thought you can provide voltage to a connector at the fuse panel to open the frunk and engine lid?
Finally got the tool and fittings from Tial/Xona to swap the leak prone aluminum check valve adapters from my XR1000s to a fitting that allows the turbos to be used with the OEM check valves. Turbos are already off the car and my engine is having a relaxing winter out in Colorado, so the fitting swap took less than an hour. Hopefully this takes care of that problem.
Regarding the stock injectors, are they the same part # as the 996/997 Carrera m96/97 that can fail (or perform poorly and leak fuel)?
I am waiting to upgrade mine together with k24 hybrids
If you are planning on going hybrids, you will need to upgrade your injectors; I am not sure if the part numbers carry over, but the NA mills likely need less fuel than the turbo ones.

They are not the same part numbers across any of these platforms. The 996 Turbo, 996 Carrera, 997 Carrera and 997 Turbo all use unique injector part numbers.
I haven't heard of any 980 guys having the leak, but I know there are more than 3 XR1000 owners with it.. John, myself, Chaz also out in Colorado, and Tial implied they needed the special tool back ASAP because they have a few others on the list.
If I remember right, you have John's old 980s and those did not leak on his car so I would think you would be ok.
To be honest, I am wondering if something changed between the pre-covid and post-covid manufacturing process/parts tolerances/etc that is why these 1000s all produced once everything opened back up have leaked, and previous turbos did not. If anyone has any 2021 or newer production date 980s or anything besides 1000s that are leaking I think would be telling that something changed. Tial is very helpful about sending out the fittings and tool for free to replace it if you do have a leak though, so they are doing all they can to make it right and I believe all the current turbos being sold come with the new stuff out of the box.
