I don't air down during storage, have never had flat spots. Summer only cars are usually on jack stands during the winter though.
As for what I did to the car - an oil change and bought a new set of R888R to last the next 5k miles. Have a new fuel sending unit I need to put in as last year it developed the symptom where the fuel level would drop to 0 when under 1/2 a tank and taking high speed turns. And also need to install the new sun visor mirror covers.

In the last couple of weeks I did the brakes. I did install the rennkit cal*cool caliper cooler. New 997 rotors, new pads, goodridge stainless steel brake lines and did flash the brakes with Ate 200. I haven’t drove much the car since then to feel a difference.

I also did a boost leak test and the Venturi tube was leaking. I replaced the Venturi tube and also replaced the N75 valve as a precaution, easy to change in the same time.

Who do you use? I went with a Hagerty agreed value ($75k) policy through my Allstate agent. Unlimited miles.

State run here in BC, unlimited KMs, $5m, 'market' replacement.

Plus I carry a rider for the extra parts to the tune of $50k.

My driver side spoiler ram only extended halfway. Took the system out and only found evidence of the banjo bolts leaking so changed all the crush washers on both rams and pump when filling it with fluid and they are dead even now. Am happy I turned down the $2k estimate I was given a while back to fix it.

Good fix.

Today, I waited for my insurance decal to come, it did not.

Sad, as the sun is actually out, and tomorrow will be torrential rain.

Confirmed - it's a downpour.

I got the Elise back from getting its yearly ceramic coat maintenance/touchup. Turbo is waiting, but I should have a nice trip planned for the Turbo soon

Is yearly ceramic coat maintenance something that has to be done? My turbo had that done by the PO prior to my purchase and I was wondering how long it would last as it is ill-advised to wax the car once ceramic coat has been applied.

You can wax the car, it will just top the ceramic. You should be using something like a ceramic spray after each wash. You can use one while its wet and prior to drying. It will add to the coating and promote longevity.

Yeah, so you're supposed to, every time you wash the car with ceramic coat, to apply a product as you're drying to rejuvenate the coat.

For the GYEON warranty on this particular coat, they say you have to get it touched up by the installer once a year, which is $100, and it's basically a $100 full detail, so I'm fine with it.

I've been told NOT to apply wax on top, but I'm not certain about the chemistry / removal of the ceramic coat underneath, or if it stacks on top.

Overall, I like the GYEON product, but I have a very solid regular wax on my Subaru, and 3-4 applications of Nu-Finish on my 4Runner. If you're looking for ease of cleaning and rain beading vs. price, Nu-Finish is hard to beat...I put 3 coats on at the end of the summer and I'm good for the year. I was doing 3 in the summer and 2 in the spring, didn't notice a difference.

....have been away for a while... well ... after I got my 996tt last year, my wife started complaining also having one... you know: happy wife - happy life

Had to refurbish the second one a bit technically, but because of that it was a bargain.

Leaving both cars unattended in the garage over winter, delivered some unforseen results ... :-D

However... the rookie needs to be nurtured a bit.... started yesterday with RH suspension ... tomorrow LH.... weekend gearbox drop :-/
