It's so light weight there is a bit more kick. More of a backpack gun for when you gotta kill that charging bear ... or zombie. I'd love to get a model 29 too.

We could mount them on the hoods of our turbos...

Two including mine. The other was a cab and there was a 997 turbo next to me as well. I actually had the Singer as a work desktop pic for years... never would have thought that I'd see that actual car in person in my hometown.

I believe Clint Hightower, aka Engineering Boy, is developing a replacement seal. Rennfix.com I am not sure when it will be available.

I noticed at idle there is an occasional chirp from the SAI pump. I wonder if thats the problem.

tore my engine down to a short block today, 171k kms on it, lifters all perfect (even with a 7200+rpm limiter) , all cylinder bore excellent as well...can't beat a Mezger

Yup, even my 180k mile engine (that's 290k kms!) was perfect inside. The heavy two-piece variocam intake lifters were fine, even the chain guides had virtually no wear. These are truly endurance racing engines and run on the street they last a really long time.

That's super impressive for the chain guides.

I had new ones in hand just in case. They can be replaced without splitting the case or taking the heads off.
The exhaust valve guides are probably worn out on my engine though. There are always a lot of carbonized oil bits in the oil filter and I think that's from exhaust gas sneaking up the valve guide and coking the oil. I always idle the engine after a drive and I do a few laps of the paddock after a track session, hopefully to cool off the turbos before shutting down.
That's next winter's project.

Always impress when someone is attempting such a big job!!! Are you working in a shop or at home? You got all the tool needed?

awesome yup same here with the guides, really impressive really
will see how the guides look but fine they'll spec fine, engine uses 0L - 0.25L oil over a 3000-4000km interval.

thanks, although this stuff is what I do...doing it at home to keep the shop more free'd up and more enjoyable walking into the home shop with a beverage and poking away at it (also have a friend/customer 914 engine at the home shop for a refresh)...not all the factory tools are needed but some definitely can speed things up

Over how many months? 5?

Speaking of which, I need to look up the recommended pressures for summer.
