Yea, my interior after 18 years and 160,000 miles of use was virtually like new.

Anyone else have a ridiculous amount of gorilla tape and epoxy holding their plastic interior together? My map light cover broke off as i was trying to shut off the bright lights so i used gorilla clear tape to hold it in. My wooden shift **** is repoxied but i need to sand it down and ad a grip pattern. Some of my buttons are epoxy dipped and my center console needs to be layered in epoxy so its not all scratched up. Am i too rough with this interior?
That said, I've fixed plenty stuff on other vehicles with some good helicopter tape and JB weld. Standard adventure moto repair kit is jb-weld, safety wire, zip ties, heavy tape, and of course vice grips... That plus some aluminum from a scavenged beer can and you can fix pretty much anything.

i no longer have vanity - or covers on either vanity mirror.
all the better to look at myself without having to flip my lids.

Mine has evidence of dog; I reached out to Frank at Exclusive Option this week, via email and VM, and have not yet gotten a reply - I hope they are still at it.
There will be no Gorilla tape in my car.

Nope. Not a lick of tape or epoxy 'fixing' anything on the 996 Turbo, though now that you mention it, maybe I should just epoxy the damn vanity mirror cover that recently fell off back on permanently closed. Never opened the thing once anyway.

New(ish) owner here! 2004 Turbo Cab 6spd. I picked up the car a few months ago in in OH and drove it back to CT. Since then, work has consumed my entire existence, so I’ve only been able to drive it a few times before Winter fully descended on the region. However, after only a few drives, I’m in LOVE.
The car was well maintained by the previous owner, but she needs a few minor items to get to a proper enthusiast level of care. So, I managed to find some time to finally clean out 16+ years of gunk around the front radiators.
Next up:
Fuel Filter
OEM Clear Side Markers (the mounting tabs on the originals crumbled to bits when uninstalling the bumper)

Correct...
It was actually built yesterday, 522 days since I put a deposit .
The only other GM I've owned was my first car, a hand-me-down, barely running 1972 Vega GT that I fixed up more decades ago then I care to mention.
Its a 2021 C8 (eight generation corvette), HTC (hard top convertible), Z51 (track/performance package), 1LT (base trim level) in ELB (Elkart Lake Blue).
I really don't know if I'm going to like it, let alone love it, but it's an at MSRP car and their still transacting for $10-20K over sticker, so if it doesn't fire up the right neurotransmitters, it won't stay around long. Some very tough competition in the garage with the 996 Turbo and 991 Turbo S, but we shall see!
Should like much like this one, though this is the coupe (really targa) body style and mine is the newer folding hard top convertible body style.

My buddy has a Sapphire Blue Metallic 991 TTS, would like to see it next to the C8 once it arrives. Colors look fairly close... A good bit of color balance and contrast tweaking on both the pictures below, really need to see them both in person.

I am the same way - the only GM products I use now are Suburbans, and the last one lasted 20 years +.
I will admit, however, I am curious to try one of the C8s, however, I am a bit horrified by some of the stories circulating about the weak gearbox (I have a de-tuned version of the 6.2l in my new Suburban and as of Monday it will be producing 450 thunder ponies, and, I really like it... ) and other stories about massive over heating/power pulling issues - this does not cause concern for you? Year One and all... Or, is this just going to be a Blvd Cruiser...?
DON'T DUMP THE 996! As far as I can tell, we are the only two that 991/996...
The color is nice, the wheels are nice too - it would **** me off something fierce to wait that long.
Will it be going to Lingenfelter...?

I frequent the C8 forums, and while of course you hear about every failure that happens to any car, quality actually seems to be pretty good. I've not heard either of the above with any frequency...
Now making sure the dealer doesn't drop it off the lift because they use the wrong jacking points, that's another matter!
Year One and all...

We will pit your 6.2l against my 6.2l on the track of your choosing...
Every time you get ahead of me, I will simply cut across the in field to regain the lead...
Enjoy it in good health.
