Washed the car. Then notices very small exhaust specs on the tail. Clay bar, polish and wax = oooh pretty. I then wiped the tailpipe. Oops, made a clean spot. I spent the next 45 minutes polishing away the crud off and in the tail pipe. Now everything is shiny!

did the stop-leak refill on the spoiler and primed the rams - so far so good.

it was going up only 1/2 way on the driver's side and now...all good!

Fitted 997 SSK and ordered a set of Wevo semi solid engine mounts. Massive transformation of shift change and can't wait for the mounts now.

Cheers

I really should have taken pictures. Thanks to everyone that has posted maintenenace info.

The locations and sizes of the fasteners would be a big help. Some of them are big, others small. Someone said take off fender liner, which isn't necessary. Take off the screws nearest the fender opening to access a screw behind the light that abuts the fender opening. You need to be really careful with the screw at the bottom front you have thr fender, then the fender, then the fender liner, then the spoiler.

It's the details like that which would be a great help.

good luck! Make sure all hydraulic fittings are very tight, even the ones on the syringes under the black plastic liner. Heat is your enemy, make sure the engine lid fan blows after shut down, it pushes air from the top down. Cooking the hydraulic system seems to shorten its life greatly.

Looked for boost leaks. Found none. Need to look harder.

Found a few leaks on the intake side. Adjusted waste gate per Kevin's numbers. My off-idle stumble is gone for the most part. Now for some pulls.

Default Air leaks on pressure side

Read all 21 pages of the thread on air leaks. Pretty scary stuff, but our cars are 15 or more years old, and the vacuum/pressure lines are not any younger. Took off the air filter and started looking around. 30K miles and garage kept in SoCal, so the lines were still pliable and looked ok, but........

Thinking about out cobbling together some sort of testing plugs to pressurize from the intercooler inlets/turbo outlets. Anybody know someone who could do a pressure test in the greater San Diego area?

There was a Porsche dealer there 20 years ago, still there?

Default SD Porsche Dealers

Yes, there are two dealers. Porsche of SD and Hoehn. But I was hoping for a recommendation for someone that a) knows what they are doing and b) won't just bend me over the hood-

Fitted new Wevo engine mounts today. I thought that the 997 SSK made a big difference but the new mounts have totally transformed the car. Gets the power to the ground much better, feels tighter and sounds better. I can't believe the difference. Suspect that the mounts in the car were the original so probably well past thier use by date anyway. Happy boy
