that's a good idea - time to talk to Tony @ EPL for a slight mod (after i grab a new exhaust).

Depends on seized closed or seized open. Mine were seized closed so it was overboosting, I was hitting 1.5 bars because the wastegates wouldn't open to control the boost. That was with GT28 turbos and external wastegates but same is true with stock turbos.
Wastegates seized open on the other hand would not create boost.
Some cars that don't get driven hard develop seized closed wastegates because they never get exercised.

Did my first fluid change...engine oil, trans and front diff. A pleasure to work on.

All went well with the exception of the CV grease everywhere inside the driver side wheel well. Outer boot split almost clean in two.

Apparently, I also need front diff output seals. Two clean-ish splatter patterns on my under tray

Looks like I'll be riding-RWD-dirty for a while as I repair the greasy/oily bits.

Polished my headlamps.

Just returned from the Mammoth High Sierra Tour at Mammoth Lakes Ca. During line up, was parked next to a pristine 996GT3 with very clear lenses. My grungy, yellowed lights made my car look like a wrecker, lenses were as bad if not worse then Steve's original pics.

So I decided that when I got home, I would remedy the situation

Been following this thread since Steve posted. Great information. I wanted to post what I did, after finding this on the web:

This guy is a professional detailer and I must say, I am very happy with the results.

The clear on the Porsche is very thick. Started wtih 220 wet or dry, then 400 and 600, all dry sanded. the went to 1000 wet, 1500 wet and finally 2000 wet. Finished with a mechanical cutting compound and finally a foam pad and polishing compound. Took about 45 minutes per side.

Used a spray on clearcoat with built in UV protection, Upol #1 clear. Very happy with the results

I was at the track visiting my buddies instead of driving and my indy decided to bring this car out for sale. He is always trying to get me to buy a track dedicated car. I was thinking a nice street Speed Yellow turbo would look great along side the silver turbo in the garage

Did a few things on it last weekend...
- Ignition switch
- Numeric Racing shifter
- Rennline pedals and track mat

Much easier to do all these with the seat out but the ignition switch was still a pain in the ***. The shifter is amazing...fixed my main complaint with the car (oem shifter is sloppy with a very long throw). Car was such a pleasure to test drive once it was all done.

Speedtech exhaust will be installed in a few days.

I put a rubber pinch welt around my aluminum track mats to keep the edges from gouging into the carpet.

Kevin,
What did you find missing from the explanations for removing your front bumper cover?

Drove it in bad traffic for the first time. Absolutely miserable. Definitely likes open, fast roads, not parking lot freeways.
