Put my friends stock rear shocks in the car yesterday afternoon so the car is a roller. Needed to get it off the lift this morning so I could do front pads/rotors/oil change on my wife's cayenne.
I took my Turbo out of storage. God-dang quick compared to the Rav4 I've been driving around for six months...
Measured the garage for the prospective HD-9ST lift...it'll be SUPER tight but should be good. Yes, my garage is covered in 70's wood panelling. Yes, it's a **** pit. Yes, I'm giving it a makeover this summer.
My garage had that old 70s paneling on the lower half of the walls. I added a trim piece and then painted the whole dang thing Alabaster with the trim painted Iron Ore. I think pulling the paneling off after decades would have required a bunch of drywall work. Surprisingly the paint turned out pretty good.
Yeah, looking at all the work I might have to do, I'm really just considering painting it. It's not our forever home, and we likely wouldn't get the investment in the garage itself back on the sale price / rental of the home...
I need to build some cabinets to organize all my crap, though. Also had to move a bunch of stuff to re-do all the electrical, so that's why stuff is where it is, too.
Did my first mod to the car this weekend, installed the PCCM+ radio. What a difference it makes, OEM look is great and the stereo is a huge improvement over the Becker radio. The Bose speakers sound much better.
Uncovered car after a 5 month sleep, went for a nice drive. Hit a milestone of 17,100 miles. Had forgotten how nice/fun this car is..
After the drive, I did a boost leak test and found 2 small leaks. Finally used the test plugs (thanks to pfbz’s helpful write up), I made several years ago. System lost about 3lbs a minute. First leak was at the MAF sensor, had to tighten it abit. The second was at the F pipe where it connects to the Y pipe, spraying water showed bubbles leaking from the clamp. Was unable to resolve looks like a new clamp and pipe need to be bordered.

I think I have a silicone and stock F pipe laying around somewhere if interested.
