Anyone have any ideas on the keyfob not locking the car? I can manually lock it with the key but it just beeps once at me and does not lock when I use the fob.
Sounds simply like a low battery. They tend to work intermittently as they begin to die. One "beep" when locking *usually* means something like the center console or frunk is not fully latched/closed
Thanks, I was surprised even the mirror cover and surround is wrapped in leather. BTW if anyone needs a pair of convertible mirror mounts that came with these visors let me know and I can send them to you, just pay shipping.
That looks like Exclusive Option? I really like em.
I did mine through Exclusive Option since both my 996's had vinyl so I upgraded them. I feel like with a high touch part like that, I want a nice material...

This was after I was fooling with the window drop issue and cycling the latch with a screwdriver. I think the one beep is the window being down. Not sure how to reset.

I can't recall if a window slightly ajar is enough or supposed to trigger that "beep"? But I don't believe it is (?)
The protocol to reset the auto/up/down? If that's what you mean you just cycle it eg hold the button down until the window goes down all the way - then hold it for about 10 seconds. Do the same for the up motion. That at least rests the "auto" open/close. Only time mine ever "beeps" from the remote is if (a) something is still not fully latched OR (b) if I am disabling the interior cabin motion sensor with a double click of the fob and the quick "beep" is just confirming that the sensor is disabled.

Ok, thanks. I did not try holding down the switch. Only up and down. I also did not start the car, that might clear it. The remote did not make any odd noises with the window slightly down previously.
Well, today marks my six year anniversary being in Rennlist, starting with the 996.
It's been a helluva ride (pun intended), and much knowledge learnt.
Thank you all, hope the next six years is as awesome!
Cheers,
Should also clarify; I knew I was getting the 996 in March 2018, so I lurked around for a couple of months until I took possession at the beginning of May.

Your next milestone should be 9 years, 9 months and 6 days.
