Maya and i are looking for a decent driver quality 914, 'specially if it is white.

What can I say? I've always been an over-achiever.

Thanks for all the additional comments, everyone. I haven't yet heard from Sandersd. As you guys state, it would be ideal to get some ears out there in Houston to try and figure out where the mystery noise is coming from. As also stated, I can swap stuff out from my current motor, but it would be good to know in advance what issues I might want to pay special attention to.

Calling Sandersd... hello? Hello? You out there???

Craig,

Mike doesn't want to sell his 914s. He thinks they are going to be the next 356... funny, huh?

Dec. 7, 2014 Update:

Sandersd says he'd be glad to check the motor out, so that's great news.

I contacted the seller. He's still trying to gain access to the car. As mentioned, it's locked up at his mechanic's shop, and the mechanic is in the hospital, in pretty rough shape.

Plot continues to thicken for you, bud. I still think you should listen to reason and use that 996 to make an awesome 914! ;-)

I dunno, 914's are getting spendy. I think Cuda's 914's are outperforming his Enron stock...

Ok.. If you had a time machine and could do it all over again what would you have done.
996 or 997 or as was mentioned earlier, 991 lease. With all of the data and subjective information at handd would you have even performed the prentative maint.
I mean, maybe just buy a cheap 996 and drive the heck out of it until it lets loose...
Please five us the raw "hind sight is 20/20" feedback??
Many Thanks and good luck

First, lets have an honest discussion about the IMS issues though!

Me honesty would have bought a 964, it would have doubled value instead of losing 100k of value and I wouldn't need to deal with having to replace my engine that's valued more then the car is worth. I do love the looks of my C4S though but had I known, No way

Depending on your comment being irony, humor, or satire, do you have any idea of the trauma you just caused to some here?
