If a thread goes on long enough, Lola eventually finds her way into the conversation, but it's not unwelcome; in fact, quite the contrary!

12/11/2014:

Some of you guys were mentioning in Diesel's blown engine thread about a company in Las Vegas (Renegade Hybrids) that does LS conversions.

Web site: http://www.renegadehybrids.com/

I just sent them an email with a bunch of questions. Will keep you posted.

Cuda,

you see the link I posted on Diesel's thread? Check it out if you haven't. Problem is your car is a tip. Can't do V8 on tip.

Hmmm... I asked Vince about this, and he said he thought it was possible. Anyway, I'm checking with Renegade to see what they say.

Anyone know what the cost is for a complete swap? The idea has always intrigued me; and with a healthy 3.6 available in my garage to fund the project....

Well Whiteout member on here did it somewhat on the cheap as he was able to sell things and got deals on other things but for the avg joe, you're probably looking close to $20k if you opt for a brand new crate motor and one of the more recent LSX varieties. Just the Renegade basic kit is like $8k by itself which is really only the adaptor pieces. You have to spend more on the accessories(ie water pump, exhaust, intake, etc) and time to adapt the instrument cluster gauge and such. This would not include labor.

If they have a recipe that includes CARB certification, I'm definitely curious. I've been stalking Renegade online for years...

I think regarding CARB certification, all we Californians are interested in your findings Cuda.

Renegade is pretty active on their Facebook page. I posted this question to them a while back and they responded by saying "it could be done" and they were working on documenting a procedure that walked you through the process. Probably best to call them.
