Thanks for the compliment. I was good friends with the Porsche Sport Driving School in Bama, and all the workers and Instructors.( I was in charge of fixing all the problems on the 100 car Fleet ie. they were all still under Warranty) . I can honestly say the Instructors were all WAY better than me at Driving...

BTW there will be two versions of the UIDS, one for 996/997.1 and one for 986/987.1 This was decided many months ago, but hasn't been discussed much or any.
. In the UIDS , George and I have designed the Dual Tunnel Ports to be biased to the braking side of the fore/aft center. Since the engine is mounted backwards in the Boxster/Cayman, and since braking G-Force is much much higher than acceleration G-Force, the Boxster/Cayman Sump is mounted reversed, the Dual Tunnel Ports are reversed biased for those engines.
All present sumps for the M96, the stock, FVD, LN, Mantis, Hartech, ect all have the pick-up centrally mounted which is best performance when not moving. The UIDS performance increases as G-Force increases. All single pick-up sumps should be at least biased to the braking side, Hartech has mentioned this being a reason they use a Accusump for track cars,. Of cource if the single central pick-up were braking side biased, they would have to make Two designs, one for 911 and one for Boxster/Cayman..
No Design advantage left out of the UIDS whether it costs more to do or not, we wanted the Best Sump available.

I have 200 miles on my 986 since the massive smoke show and things are looking and feeling good. I hope to have new blow by numbers once I buy the right drill bits. Considering a dyno as well to see if there is any major deviations from a few years ago when I bought it.

Thank you
See if you can edit your waitlist order, if not just make a new one so we can see how many Boxster/Cayman orders. Right now the Boxster/Cayman is only about 10%.....I'm sure the percentage will be a lot more.
Yes!!!! With this being said do I need to change my waitlist order? I’ll likely get on the track the second it arrives.

Guys, I'm really dumb.
Can anyone explain to me why I need this? I've tracked my 996 numerous times at extremely high speeds / g-forces without any issue. Who here has had issue?
Can someone explain to me in layman's terms how my 996 C4S would benefit from this upgrade?

Sure, I'll answer, but whats your set-up now and I will compare and contrast. How long have you been DEing the car? What group do you run your DE with? PCA? What run group are you in?

If you have ever recorded/tracked your oil pressure during track events - not spot checked it, but actually recorded it throughout the length of the event with an app, then you might find that it drops down to a lower pressure suddenly, regardless of RPMs or oil temps. Often after high speed braking and/or long sweeping turns. If that happens, you’re sucking air. If not, consider yourself good and you don’t have the issue. A lot of people aren’t looking at their dash gauge and that makes sense because they should be looking out the windshield, preferably where they are going and even more preferably, where they want to go.

I club raced with POC and PCA for 12 years at Cal Speedway, Buttonwillow (numerous directions and configurations), Laguna Seca, Willow Springs, Utah/Miller, and Chuckwalla (also in different directions), with an 02 996 with just the x51 pan. Must have been lucky?

Race Car
Hi Guys.
Temps are not an issue - the needle is always just over the 180 mark regardless of whether it's 30 degrees or 100 degrees F out. I do have the third radiator kit, though. The oil pressure jumps around all the time - it's very easy to get it to do that, I can even drive on the street and jerk the car at speed and it will drop momentarily. The engine doesn't even need to be at the "just over 180" mark to have the drop occur. As for specs: the car is stock other than an M030 suspension, Nitto NT01 tires, Cobalt Friction race pads, Ate200 fluid, 0w-40 at the halfway mark, and runs with muffler bypasses and weighs 3200 with me in the car.
So I have the X51 oil pan on the way, and I will be interested to see if it makes any difference. It's so easy to reproduce, I will be able to report whether just the x51 pan does anything - other reports have said it does not. We'll see!

Partial update - with a new oil pressure sending unit installed (which is a 5 minute job - so simple on a 996, and only a $40 part) my oil pressure now reaches 5 bar which it never used to. The max oil pressure I ever registered at cold idle or acceleration was 4 with the old 94000 mile unit. I haven't had a chance to check the pressure dropping yet.
I remember your car for sale, cool, clean build.
