I'm very excited for this, but I'm an idiot and forgot about this thread and bought the 2qt deep sump kit from LN...so I'm wondering if I should just return the LN kit and just wait for this...I think they'll take it back

Porsche tech is a god
Yeah, I was interested to see what extra cooling and pickup ability you got with how much increased oil capacity.

and the teacher at the same time, if you can return that do it.

You won’t need any extra oil capacity with this. It’s not needed.

Hi Glen, as far as I'm concerned personally the UIDS is ready to go!!
George wants some more miles on it, but I have put many on the V2.2 and everything is just fine, and the v3.0 is even more robust..
And the track time would be nice just for confirmation. We need someone with a fast car ( 1G or more) that has already gotten proof that they are having oil pressure drops (recorded), and can install the UIDS and record the AFTER install and show the difference. Zbomb was set to do this, but they are now Snowed in with no Tracks open untill Spring, so would need to be someone in SoCal or Florida..

Race Car
That car looks sick and remarkably similar to what my car will look like come spring.
With that performance and the data setup, I think it’s a perfect candidate test car.

Skip and George. I'll help in any way but being in Chicago the track window won't open until April. If you organize some track time at Barber, I'll rent a Uhaul trailer and tow it to AL! If not, count me in for any help you may need in the spring. I bet you will have cooperation from many folks in the warm states.

At the onset George and I set out to design an Ultimate Integrated Dry Sump that would stop the oil pressure drops that are occurring in M96 and M97 engines on turns ( sometimes even at much lower G's than 1 G) in an effort make it more durable/long lasting. The goals were to stop the pressure drops, make it easy to install, do it in an Elegant way, keep the cost below $3k . We have accomplished ALL of our goals !!!
Fantastic update, Skip. Thanks so much for sharing all this progress and visuals to help noobs like myself understand what's happening! It seems like you pretty much have a finished product on your hands as far as use on canyons/back roads and probably some noob track work. That said, I'm sure doing a track day or two will further validate what you created so folks like zbomb and other track dudes that push their car very hard will be able to turn quicker laps not having to worry about lubrication issues. Well done and look forward to putting our money where our mouth is and supporting this work!
George is in charge of the production, but when he gets rolling, he can turn and burn..
Good deal !!
Hey Skip. I think I have a good test car for you guys here in Socal if you're interested. My friend and I run his 4.0L M96 powered track car. It has full AIM data acquisition so we can get you the before and after data. Tire choices are Nitto NT01s or Pirelli DHs. It's well prepped and light (CF doors, roof, hood, engine lid, lexan windows). It's finally getting cool enough here to run some fast laps. We also have .1 and .2 aerokit cars we could test on but no full data acquisition. Driver credentials wise, I've been a DE instructor for over 15 years and hold a NASA comp license. I'd be happy to pay for the sump up front to test it. Let me know.

I'll check with George to see if he will have a batch of UIDS ready by then..

This time around I'm building production tooling. The methods I use for prototyping are much different than production. I'll try to keep everyone updated. Follow my instagram if you want more frequent updates. I'll post in my stories. @not_a_real_911

Was down at Barber back in 2017 driving in the school. Love the track. Would love to drive it in my car sometime over the next couple of years during a PCA DE. On my list is to get a Featherlite one of these days so I can visit all the iconic tracks.

That seems unlikely, I think I'll need more time than that.

Everyone we take on these roads, even if they are track rats, find them great fun and quite challenging.and are exhausted after about 2 hours. I have an advantage due to growing up riding motorcycles , dragging the pegs, on all these roads and know them better than all but one of the gang..

Hi Geoff - it would be great if the oil pressure instability thread HERE could be revived with some fresh data from that car. Can you check if the owner is willing to share logs that have been acquired to date and post them up for review.
