Watching this one,, nice idea.
FWIW,, I saw a less elegant but similar idea on a piece of industrial equipment, it had 2 large suction ports with similar check ***** feeding the pump, and a very small tube carrying pressure side fluid to the check *****, the tube went in at a angle and was about the size of a typical engine oil squirter, It looked like it was a small amount of high pressure fluid to break the check ball loose before the system lost intake flow. The source of the flow was right after the pump before the pressure relief valve. Could have also been a relief primer to keep some fluid in play in case it lost prime for a second.. But an interesting flash back...

The Novel Flow Control Valve on the UIDS v2.2 was designed to have a minimum pressure differential drop (restriction) across it, therefore the ***** can switch easily. The weight of he ***** themselves is enough to beak the seal and switch.
This is evident in the "in-car" road tests that have already been passed, long hard turns that transition from left to right and not even a 1 psi dip in oil pressure. I went for a 1 hour test yesterday driving as hard as I could and not even a wiggle in oil pressure.
The Horizontal Baffle Plate has been Laser cut, and status shows "preparing to ship " . Please be Patient..

Thanks Skip! I’m so interested to see how this works out! I’d love to have such a safety and will for sure support when this is available. Keep it up!

so i think we can all agree that this is exciting stuff. I'm just curious if you have the vaguest idea on price. Something as vague as over $1k and less than $2500 I think would be useful. Just gives people an idea of what they are in for. If you don't think you're there yet, thats fair also.

So going forward after UAOS, UIDS, their creation, and testing....and manufacturing to us fanatics, looking ahead can you give us an idea of what future concepts have been stored in Dr. h.c. Porschetech3's mind? I am surmising a rather restless mind in spite of the current testing of the UIDS with Sally and eventually others.

I think we have our hands full for a while, fine tuning the UIDS and broadening its application to 986/987.

Perhaps, somebody will come up with an alternative to the plastic fantastic coolant tank that has a short life span and could be made in such a way to be easier to remove and install or made from metal, yet each time it fails I am forced to purchase the same flawed tank and pay a nosebleed price for a piece of plastic that expands and contracts in a rather tight hot environment and is designed to fail. My newly installed UAOS replaced another plastic problem, LN now offers billet coolant tank caps and oil caps certainly the flawed coolant tank would be on my hit list.

Logging equipment has to run on 80% grades.. hydraulic tanks are very special usually ridiculously large so they can be deep enough to ignore the angle, this was a track skidder that runs around at pretty brisk speeds at stupidly high angles in the woods.. I just happen to be around when they had it all torn apart and thought the inlet to the pump was kinda trick..

So this dry sump only really benefits people who track their car? Any benefit to people like me who do not track?
Increase longevity of our engine etc?
