I track my 997.1S (M97) on Michelin Cup 2's with the Mantis Racing sump and Motul 8100 Xmax 0W40 oil at MSR Houston (track). With the 3rd radiator and the aforementioned mods, even in 90+ degree ambient temps, the oil temp needle sometimes goes north of 250F, but never up to 275F, and comes back down below 250F if I back off a little for 1/2 a lap. I run the car with the oil level on three bars up from empty. With the Mantis sump, it takes about 8.25 quarts of oil with a filter change. If I fill it to the the full mark the AOS will eat a little oil and it will smoke quite badly on the next startup after a track session. Oil pressure seems to be ok, although until I read this thread, I had not paid much attention to it. It is not something I look at while trying to extract every bit of time on a lap that I can, but will certainly pay attention to it now. I filled up and submitted the sign up sheet. Looking forward to seeing the positive results of the track testing!

Yea, It's hard to watch oil pressure while driving aggressively.. You need a camera to record/watch the gauge for you, or a data acquisition system.

The factory AOS is inadequate in many ways, the UAOS is superior in very way and with the hm/XTTD you can even run the oil level above full for Track..

Thanks for getting on the list, they will be released soon. Track testing is just for confirmation ( simulator shows capable of over 2G) .

Default Fully o-ringed

Finalizing a few things for the production . The UIDS will be filly o-ringed so that NO silicone will be necessary. IF you are like me and don't mind applying silicone to new clean parts, but despise having to scrape off old silicone and the time it takes to get all of it off and clean, you will appreciate the extra effort we are taking to o-ring the UIDS. The bottom covers will be o-ringed as well as the sump to case flange. This will make removal and reinstall a no mess and effortless procedure. Please be Patient..

Tom, yes, this detail was discussed a long long time ago, but was put down lower on the priority list in the "easy to install and Elegant categories" of ideas.

Since we have met all of our goals, it is time to bring up the other little details to the top and finalize for production.

Skip,

With the new version, and possibly new dimensions, has anything changed with being able to run more oil for cooling. Haven't caught up with Charles to see how close he is to an oil cooling solution. Extra oil may be helpful depending on Charles' timeline. If Charles is close to a solution, then extra oil doesn't matter. What are your thoughts?

Glen, yes, we have adjusted the dimensions to add 1/4" (.250) to the UIDS and adding .5qts capacity for a total of 1.1qts . If used with UAOS with Track Drain can have a 11.5qt total capacity for oil cooling.

It will still be 3/8" (.375) more ground clearance then a 2qt deep spacer with stock sump plate, and will not need a skid plate...

But obviously the main goal of the UIDS was to stop oil pressure drops in aggressive g-Forces, and not cooling/capacity, we just added them because we could and no reason not to..

Yes,the o-rings will make it so easy to remove and install the sump that many will get in the habit of removing for inspection at every oil change..

Skip, the O-Ring is great. Sometimes that dang loctite is dang near impossible to get it out of the tube. Will you be selling additional o-rings?

I'm still on the list, but even more excited. I'll probably throw my skid plate on anyway since I don't want to take any chance on this beautiful piece of machinery.

I think there will be at least a few skid plates for sale when these start being installed...😉
