I don't mind when this thread goes down various unrelated rabbit holes, including BBQ & the stock market, but please let's avoid politics.

Where do they indicate "reserve not met" in the BaT listing? Here's another 996 listing with 6 days remaining and the bid far below value, but no indication of a reserve that I can see: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...1-carrera-106/

I checked a few listings and couldn't see anything about a reserve -- I must be overlooking something.

Since elections are the voice of the majority, typically ANY election result should have a positive impact on the market.
In my opinion, one result is better than the other, but either should help some...temporarily.
I'm not saying the majority is correct, but the market typically seems to think that any concluded election is "good."

At least the political ads and phone calls will be over...at least THAT is a positive either way as well!

https://bringatrailer.com/no-reserve/

These are the current no-reserve listings.

@aaronjb_ME I meant no disrespect and have no intent of reporting any post. I agree that talking financial advice and $ in general is really not something that needs to be on any Porsche forum. Focus should be strictly about the cars.

All BaT auctions have a hidden reserve, unless otherwise stated.

Yea, BAT probably turned to the seller and said " Hey man, are you trying to pull a fast one here?" and the seller said " No,No, it really is a 37k mile car, but how can I explain all this?"..LMAO..Wouldn't you have loved to have been a fly on the wall during that exchange?

But yea, even being a 37k mile car, having someone buy a used DME/Immo/key to repair a "wet car" instead of going straight to an Authorized Dealer to get a NEW Immo and have it programmed is still a points deduction in many books..

That, and the fact that without the original DME one would never know what was the original engine hours of the car. That interior didn't look 37K miles to me. Leather on the 996 is super hard to wear and is a really good indicator. Of course I can be wrong, but at least I would have serious doubts if I was the buyer

I agree that every 911 is probably a six-figure plus car once the dollar gets devalued enough. Look out for that milkshake when the funding crisis really kicks off..

I like the part about Germans adopting English as their language. Imagine how much easier it would be to read Porsche repair manuals.

Never heard em called "false friends". The best one by far is "embarazada." If you are ever embarrassed in Spain, don't try to improvise by saying "Estoy embarazada"... that's not what it means.
