I heard that all the wiring harnesses for all VW products were made in a factory in western ukraine that has been periodically shut down.

I'm not sure what % of that is truth but I think there is some truth to it. Also not sure how much it affects Porsche I heard it mostly affecting VW.

The Rolex thing is all about keeping their prestige. You go into a authorized dealer, who sells watches at MSRP, put your name down, build a relationship, buy some other things from them, kiss some ***, then MAYBE you’ll get the call that they have that Explorer or Submariner you want. Could be 1 month, could be 2 years. Is it in the vault? Most likely. It’s all a game.

Or you can go to the grey market and get one asap. But you pay a premium for that accessibility.

Most of the VW *cars* sold in North America are made in Brazil with wiring harnesses from Brazil. I have found all sorts of fun stuff wrapped up in the Brazilian wiring harnesses, cigarette butts and chocolate bars for example. I don't know about their SUV's, I assume they are made on the same line as the Audi & Porsche variants.

Take that “recession”
That is 100% the way I would spec out a 996 If I could go back in time and afford it.

Lotta online Porsche parts sites say the same thing about amber lenses

Good luck with that

Kind of sounds like what would happen if I wanted to buy a new GT car from Porsche!
