The Tiptronic was never offered on a 944, the only option was the older technology "auto trans". The first Tiptronic was on the 964 and then next on 968. So perhaps take a look at 968s, they are basically a 944 with different body work and an NA engine as powerful as the 944 Turbo. I drove a 968 with Tiptronic for about 13 years, really liked that, it is only 4 speed, and 1st gear is pretty useless, so it is then realistically a 3 speed. My current 996 is also Tiptronic, wouldn't want it any other way.

How much less will this car be worth with one more mile?

It would be nice if it went up due to experience, but in reality, it doesn't matter!

Too bad these cars aren’t like a guitar that sounds better as it ages and the wear over time add character…or does it? A 911 that’s made it this far is more special than one that didn’t. Do cars have a soul? If yes, I only want a car with a good soul. I feel like my car has a good soul. My wife’s car does too, but not the 3 cars we had before these (non-Porsche). Two identical cars are just not the same. Your car has a proven track record.

Well, it's understandable that he is enthusiastic about Speed Yellow Turbos after he bought one himself.

I was surprised that BaT actually listed that car. It's got buy-here-pay-here used car lot quality written all over it.

There have been plenty of questionable auction listings during this rise in pricing.

Have a look at R230 (2003-2011) Mercedes SLs. They're surprisingly agile with the ABC suspension, super comfortable for any kind of long drive, they have a HUGE fuel tank so you can drive all day so long as you don't get a V12, and they're still pretty darned cheap. There are horror stories about ABC repair bills but there are reasonable alternatives if you search. Also the roof limits luggage capacity, but they will eat 2 golf bags so it ain't shabby. I would have gotten a SL550 that still had the dual round headlights, but I became distracted by other shiny things.

Anyone aware of any RWD-converted C4S sales recently? Been toying with the idea of selling mine sometime in the nearish future. Trying to get a sense of whether the RWD conversion will have a notable impact on the price.

(As for the "why" - I only have so much garage space and I'm now on a mission to find an example of my dream car before they become unaffordable)
