Prices Keep Drifting Up

Fuel costs, now that's another story. I get 14mpg around town. I guess I enjoy that whooshing sound.

You are right. Parts not service. Fingers and brain werent working together when I typed it. Importantly, this is not a criticism of the turbo. Far from it. My point is that moving to a turbo or even gt3 doesn't necessarily produce a cost savings.

Extra radiator?

Yes, yes, however, as a C2 owner I'll be happy to say for my 4S brothers: You also get the looks of the 996 C4S - the best looking they've ever done.

There are a ton of mods available for the turbo
a turbo S that cost
$300k plus is a 10 second car. Have a friend that works for Shell he’s the original owner of an 02
with 165k miles on it. Still on original clutch. Car has close to 700 hp. Sam at autobydesign can custom tune and remove the maf. So far the two biggest concerns that have come up about the turbo, coolant lines and mass air flow sensors. Everyone seems to have the opinion that the mezger is a pretty stout engine.

The interested parties where measuring each other’s dck
This is mr993's old car. This car supposedly sold for over $70K at Amelia this year, so not sure how the dealer is making any money selling for $70 which means the Amelia auction sale was likely b$. That being said, I had the opportunity to buy this car from Porsche Conshohockin in Dec 2019 for $30K lol. I passed as it needed an IMS, and countless other things. Its worth more than $30 now for sure, not anywhere close to 70 though
and both my wife and I get to choose a Mercedes accessory, you have 30 minutes to take it or leave it. Yes they called me back in 10 minutes. That saved me $2k from where Mercedes was at on a Wednesday evening. A $400 service, my wife choose a mb yeti mug, I got an underarmour mb $85 shirt. The price on this car here is irrational exuberance. Look at the pics from the cars bellow and more irrational exuberance in this two pretty similar 997s turbo.
Darth Vader
No way I’m hell this car is worth $70k more than the one below.

We will see if the 996 bull market is still trending up this week. Have a wide assortment of different 996.1 and 996.2 variations for sale.
So far with early bidding, it looks solid. Not enough turbos and 996.2 coupes up for sale. But both look to be bargains. Problem is not many want to sell. Do you blame them? Nope!

Good video from Lee Sibley from 9WERKS TV and Total 911 on the differences between the 996.1 and 996.2.

But when you find a car like the 996 that is an incredible driving experience, that gets better looking with age, with broad aftermarket support and cutting edge solutions, it's worth it. 😊
Can't wait for the next 20 years of ownership. Not mention if I can get in and out of the car when I am in my 70's with GT3 seats.
Signed,
Bullish on the 996
