I agree completely that's why I was wondering about it.
I think you guys covered it well:
Smaller buyer pool, US stock market run/stimulus checks,, Higher taxes and costs in UK.
Physical geography playing a role too.
Makes sense.

You see a lower price and think someone's getting a better deal but that ain't always the case.

It could be a serious thread if majority of the posts would stop being over-exaggerative of how great the 996 is or the others that are just ****ting on it and the people that do enjoy it.

Sure, but when it's the same thing regurgitated over and over the "conversation" becomes redundant. It's whatever like you said, but I've found myself caring less to post.

Hey, at least it's not as bad as "What makes the 1999 so special anyway" thread

Ironically that was that was supposed to stop conversation. I was getting tagged all day long from BaT auctions with endless questions about 1999 build dates, computer stalks, trunk releases, throttle cables etc etc etc. I figured I would answer every possible question once and send the link. That thread is now heading for 30K views with more and more escalating 996 hate and troll infighting than anything on 4chan

I regret that now

I think you're missing the point there. You clearly have the knowledge and folks appreciate that - no doubt. That said, I think everything was well covered in the first few posts. Now we're close to 500 posts basically repeating the same info over and over again. I don't think anyone is hating on these cars as much as you say or think, at least anymore. If I want to learn what makes 1999 so special anyway I have 500 posts to look through only to realize that I knew everything I needed to by post #10 or 20. That thread could be a sticky but doubt any more posts will add anything of value.

If it isn’t too repetitively redundant, I’ll echo what Plpete is saying. All humor aside, peeps need to adjust their sensitivity filters. Confirmation bias and entitlement hyperinflation are diseases with no vaccine available. Sometimes I come to RL just to take my medicine. Then I get back to my happy place where M96 engines are not devil spawn and fried eggs are good eating.

WTF hatchetf15! (kidding of course ) I just hate redundancy Every time I see a new thread that talks about the value of the 996 and not something technical or driving related I go Maybe we need a 996 lifestyle subsection?

You mean the "Silver steering wheel crest envy" thread?

I think it should also be stated that most of the pertinent information was covered in the first few posts and the last several pages has really just been repetitive. Its frustrating to read through everything only to realize that this could be a sticky because the important information is in the first few posts and the rest of the thread just continues to repeat itself.

Uh sir. This is my opinion that your opinion is wrong, but a 996 with leftover 993 parts like the 4 spoke wheel is the true unicorn. Poor Porsche went watercooled and couldn't even budget for a new steering wheel. The 4 spoke is a relic and if I had to guess only 10 remain on non-blown-up 996.1's.
