Everyone really loves their 4 spokes like that? I just got my car recently and only got to test drive cars with the 3 spoke.
Now I am on the fence....

Have you guys seen the video Doug Demuro did on the 996 being good value (a few years ago). He specifically mocks the 993 for its ugly four-spoke wheel. Edit: I misremembered. Around 3:15 he does mock the 993, but the steering wheel section is about the G-model and 964. Oh well. Still a funny video.

Regarding this thread, I find it one of the most enjoyable on the entire forum... just go here once every few days to feel good about my 996 with its unicorn silver crest and 3-spoke wheel. (For obvious reasons I don't love the 1999 thread as much.)

All I have to do is drive it to feel good.

That's what it's all about, for any Porsche, or any other make and model. Enjoy the drive, time will run out for all of us before we know it.

Plus, easy to imagine a GT3 elevates the experience over what some of us have to say too though.

The 4-spoke wheel is svelte and suits the car well. Those fat 3-spoke wheels just don't cut it.

That old four spoke wheel, the dull orange VDO gauges, the narrow, analog stereo with the funky orange digits from Lost in Space...

996 can really be a vintage experience now. Couple that with a cable-throttled drivetrain absolutely void of driver aides and nannies, and it’s just a whole lotta fun.

Of the water cooled only the MKI GT3 can match that, and I expect MKI GT surpasses 99 Carrera by no small quantum leap!

QUESTION: Does MKI 996 GT3 have a cable throttle??

AFAIK it does not.

Which means that old four spoke in your hands, and that old cable beneath your foot, are a mother freakin rare and real thing.
