But only 11 service records over 21 years, with no mention of AOS, Ignition coil, Spark plug, Fuel injector, or water pump replacements, rear main seal and clutch. Does this mean that the engine oil was only changed 3x over 45k miles?

PPI with bore scope and Oil Test are critical.

Why, because the new owner could either be in for 60k plus 5k for the above mentioned service items and have great car without bore scoring...

Or have an 85k car due to bore scoring including a rebuild.

Buyers, do your homework please.

There are still deals to be had. If I hadn't already bought my C2 I'd have driven 5 hours south this weekend.

That is either patently too good to be true or the greatest steal of the new millennium. Hoping the latter for a lucky Rennlister...

Nastalgic of 55k 996 GT3s in 2009 and 45k 996 Turbo.

Not to mention 350k Carrera GTs at the same time.
As well as 2k Featherlite trailers.

Quite frankly, don't know why anyone would want to sell their 996 right now. Narrow or wide body. Tight and light or wide and heavy.

Plenty of preventative solutions to prolong engine life available as well as more on the way.

Plus you get the best damn headlights copied by the carerra GT.

The allure is the money for most probably. Wouldn't mind the money myself, but it would just sit in investment accounts and pay a chunk off the mortgage...., which may be more responsible, but I'm not responsible and neither of those two options have 300HP from a flat 6.

Pretty much this. I've bought and sold a lot of cars over the last 15 years and I don't think I've ever come out ahead. I know I would come out ahead this time but there isn't much I would do with the money right now. Can't buy a house right now because we wanna pay grad school in cash and the market is ridiculous.

Optionman,

Any correlation to prices and service history records? Or is it just driven by pretty colors?
