Car is leaving me for a while on SAT, finally.
One of the many, many things to do when it comes back is install the fire system that just arrived.
I'm a little conflicted on mounting the tank - the pretend race car builder in me says to mount it in the frunk for weight distribution... BUT... where do cars get hit quite frequently, the front (the cup car I parted out had the cool shirt cooler in the frunk... In many pieces by the time I got it)... So, the tank would probably be better protected in the cabin... Good thing I have some time to ask people smarter than me to get their thoughts.

I am no expert in race cars, but if it were me I would want it in the cabin protected by the cage. In my opinion fire suppression is too crucial for safety to risk having it up front and that piece of mind is worth a little weight imbalance.
Great build by the way! You did a fantastic job with the lexan. It's going to be great to see it all finished! I almost wish I still lived out in Boston, so I could get to see it in person!

On all of my racecars back in the 80s and 90s, it was mounted near the driver.
Two of those cars I built myself, while one was built by Lola.
In front of the car seems like the last place you would want to put it for safety.
It should have instructions.
If I recall correctly there's a recommended positioning section.
You can't orientate the bottle however you want, it's designed to be installed horizontal, or nearly so.
Of course this may have changed in the last 30 years.

Jason, congrats man. Looking forward to hearing all about it. I am not a fan of putting an Ev or Honda engine in a 911, but I can respect an LS. It makes sense for what you are looking to achieve.

Yeah... It's not currently running (no ECU,Dash, Cluster etc...) so it will be towed behind my 420HP, 6.2 LS Silverado to get where it needs to go.

Towed the car for the first time today and I am thrilled the whole truck / trailer setup performed awesome and the trip was a completely uneventful 1.75HRS each way.
Looked certified bad *** as well, IMO of course.
