I am prepared to do the modification to the rad bracket and hack that situation so it works. my fender liners are already relatively butchered with the giant holes cut in them for venting so they are pretty flexible at this point. The overall diameter of the 275/35 is actually the exact same as the 245/40 - 25.55 inches. They are a lot wider though, so whatever room was left in the front fenders, and maybe then some should be used well up.

Hi Jason,
I see we are both running the same 274 BBS centers. Instead of a ET43 9.5 (1.5/8), you may want to think about building the front wheels into an ET37 18x10" (2/8). That is what I use and it's a better fit for a 275, especially the NT01 which runs relatively wide. On a 9.5, the 275 is pretty pinched, so not ideal (I tried it years ago). You need to run the tops flipped to get the required clearance on the fender. I believe the GT cars and the C2 have the same fenders so clearances should be identical. Here is a pic showing clearance with 10 front. It's tight but tucks under the fender nicely. Looking forward to seeing your car done, looks to be coming along nicely!

Thanks for the insight John - Nitto specs call for a 9.5 as median wheel width.

I felt pretty comfy that the 9.5 setup would bolt on relatively easily including with the 10MM spacer I run to give the spring some clearance. But… the spring in the new setup may allow for some extra clearance and if I could ditch the spacer, I’d feel better about the 10in.

I’ll do some looking before I pull the trigger on the 1.5 lips, they are in stock at BBS, have not checked on the 2in.

Ahh, I didn't realize you used a spacer. Yes, to use a 10" wheel you can NOT use a spacer and that requires 2.25" springs so the wheel barrel can clear on the inside. It will not work with a 60mm spring. The trick to fitting the 10 is to flip the upper mounts and push the plates all the way inboard and then set your camber with LCA shims. The 9.5 will work of course but a wider wheel is always better from a performance standpoint as it stiffens the tire sidewall.

Agreed on wider is better, I am planning for next CO setup to use a 2.25 spring so as with a lot of what I have going on, trying to plan for systemic happiness while the system is not completely in-hand.

I really appreciate your input.

ETA - 2 in outers on back order until mid march…

John - looking at your car a little closer - do you have the wheel liner extending out past the bumper ? I’m looking from below the corner marker to the bottom of the bumper.

Was this done to divert air away from the portion of the tire that extends past the bumper ?

Those are 997.2Cup spats. They are not part of the fender liner but are a separate piece riveted to the bumper cover itself. I’ll try to find a pic of it from the backside and post it up.

And yes, you are correct. The function of those is to smooth the airflow around the tire and aerodynamically create a low pressure area right behind the spat and ahead of the tire. This low pressure area effectively helps to evacuate high pressure air in the wheel well and by doing so helps create downforce on the front end.

Re the 2” BBS outers if you decide to go that route. I may have some brand new ones in stock. Would have to check.

That’s cool John - I’m gonna steal that smart idea. Thanks.

I'd definitely like to see some more pics from various angles.
Might be something that could be fabricated.

Thought I had a good pic but I don't. I can take some when I get the car back from the paint shop. This is all I have. You can see the spat above the tire with the top rivet showing. There are 4 rivets in total from top to bottom. You can very easily fabricate it from CF or even an old fender liner that you cut a strip of plastic from.

@zbomb, I found this after some searching: (991 Cup car, but close enough)

Looks pretty simple to make.

Yep, those are on a 991Cup but basically the same as on a 997 just slightly different shape. You can put T-nuts in the back of the bumper cover and use button cap screws or small aluminum rivets. I'd say any sheet of black ABS plastic and an hour to two with a Dremel tool and a belt sander will get the job done. I remember the Porsche Motorsport tax on these was pretty steep and not worth it if you're handy.

These came in Friday night, had to let them sleep inside with the incoming weather.

While the snow dumped for the next 24 HRS, I enjoyed a few of these utilizing the seasonal fridge. For those of you in the warmer states, a seasonal fridge is to be utilized when the weather is well below 32 and the walk to the normal fridge is more steps than to the seasonal fridge. BTW... 24 beers in a case, 24 hours in a day... coincidence, I think not.

Woke up in a slight stoopper this morning to sober... I mean clean up.

Tip... If you can deal with getting covered in snow head to toe, then you can use a backpack blower instead of a shovel for the small stuff and be done in half the time
