Track day tomorrow - Great !

Weather looks like its going to get crappy right when track time starts ! BOOOO

We'll just have to see how it plays out, going in with some pretty low expectations compared to hoping for a second or two off as of a couple days ago.

Good news, car is ready - running 3/4 capacity on oil, I'll be working that UAOS drain back hard, hopefully

PS - detail after track season to get all the tire marks off her... badges of honor for the moment

Man - Did today KICK *** ! Yes, yes it certainly did... kicked it up and down, left and right !

The weather was constantly looming but Aaron and I were able to get 1.5 dry session, half a session of misting and I wrote off the last session as it actually started raining and I had already....

RAN A PB 1:20.8 !!!! in the 1 full dry session. Man, I'm HYPED ! The car worked great, still building up a little confidence in the brakes, was a little soft on them vs, the pre ABS / multiple off track excursions days (can see it in the data) but I saw 1.6G of lateral and was around 1.5 very consistently, that is just a **** ton of grip and does it feel GREAT.

Gotta give FSI some credit on the PB - towards the end of the lap I saw a 996 with FSI banners coming into view, it provided great motivation to push the stock M96 just a little bit harder - you'll have to watch the video to see how that plays out

Also - Thanks Aaron and Skip and Randy and DE Aaron and Ryan and Jack and Brad and Paul and Glenn all my 996 homies hanging out in this thread - you guys are the collective **** !

Jason, a lot of good things to unpack in the video.

Congrats on your time. You are carrying a lot of speed. Your car is really rotating with the PSM off and LSD doing its job. Can't get over the water temps being substantially lower with your mods. Oil temps are still high. Your mods plus new radiators (CSF) and low temp thermos will certainly help with more water cooling. Oil cooling still is an issue and hoping LN has moved forward with bracket fabrication ideas for their new oil cooler. Further mitigating oil starvation with improved flow with the UIDS will also be a huge benefit.

Pretty obvious all your hard work is paying off with track times and quantifying ways to improve engine durability with specific mods and procedures.

👍

Thanks guys ! Spent a little time looking over data for general stuff and this table below is one I really like. Speed high and low, Braking G max, Lateral G max left and right and average RPM. When speeds and AVG RPMs are up - lap times are down. Although, one would assume those things to be true, I think looking at the data points is cool and shows the limits I was able to find over any given lap.
