I know it's a painful process questioning everything, but you are advancing the ball for all of us 996 owners. Keep measuring and keep pushing!

There's good's and bad's to everything.

The bad about a car that is not broken and dialed in to the point I don't really want to mess with anything - I haven't even touched it since the last track day. In my newly found spare time I managed to get sidetracked and decided its time to leverage the current used car / trade in prices and put a deposit down on a new DD. With the current new car shortage its arrival should be sometime in the next couple weeks but I managed to get a new vehicle for less than the price of the same one used, I'm happy to wait Only hint I'll give is it's 378 Cubic Inches

With that out of the way, I got the car in the air for a nut and bolt and oil change. As I'm maneuvering around on the creeper I grab one of my little mufflers and it about came off in my hand... Happy it decided to tell me then and not decide it was going to make the track surface it's new home, would hate to bugger up a session. After a good going over, nothing else loose, pads and rotors getting down there, probably 2 more days of life on them so I'll order up some replacement Sebro's and try to decide if I want to stick with the Hawk pads that are on the car or do as I've been advised and put a set of PFC's on ($$$).

Threw in 10.5QTS of oil and let the motor run for a minute, I'll top it off tomorrow when everything settles up to the full (THANKS SKIP) mark of the new shorter 996.1 dip stick PN 996-107-014-54. Tried to get a shot of the difference between the newer version and the .1 - if people are interested, once I get the level settled tomorrow, I'll grab another pic of the variance between the 2.

And some gratuitous pics because I haven't posted anything in here in a bit. Track Tuesday !

QC is not terribly far off...

Ended up with 11.5QTS in the engine after topping off, curious to see if it makes a difference on Tuesday.

I started the year with the PFC 8 pads. Think they are good until the end of the year. Apex Performance $271 per set.

Too expensive, you know me...

Forgot I bought the Sebros at FCP - score one for me, just bought a replacement set and initiated the return for refund of the ones on the car.

The DTC60's are $177 a set for the front and rear at tire rack right now, I'll prob just buy another set.

My guess is 11,900. It's really cool.

Needs to have the same colors as the outlaw car.
