not because of my involvement with them but if I was doing grass roots Motorsports Valvoline would be the best company to be involved with. Mist of Valvolines marketing dollars are spent in Motorsports.

G's are goin' up! Times are comin' down. Betting line at 'vegas (if there were one) is 1:18.5.

Good luck today, well, now, Jason.

for more than 20 years Valvoline has been the top choice of ase certified mechanics. If you are into Motorsports specially grass roots there is no bigger name than Valvoline. Yes you are probably the best wrench out here, I do know grass roots Motorsports and real serious racing. On top of all this crap I had real access worked in developing true one off racing oils, when the two biggest names in nascar where
Jeff Gordon and Mark Martín i was there working with teams supplying both with the best lubricants in the world. I’m not there now but I got a pretty gut feeling that Valvoline is staying truth to their roots.

I used to run Valvoline in my race cars(SCCA GT3, ITC, and S2000) during the late 80s and early 90s due to contingency money.

I saw this and was pushing for you Paul - Traffic was tough, this was the first group I have run with where passing was relegated to certain sections of the track for the advanced guys and it gave a lot of opportunity for good, or great laps to get ****ed up. If I could have put a good clear lap together, man the car was feeling really good, theoretical were in the mid 17's, a half second better than best theoretical from last year. Best lap was 1:19.6... I had great progress with the car today, I got to the point where things started clicking and overall, despite the traffic I had a remarkably (for me) consistent day.

Best part, Aaron was running his car and my family was there. Also got to meet @SSDVC which was really cool - just another day where there was no other place I'd rather be.

The not so good, towards the end of the 4th session and the entirety of the 5th the gearbox is grinding into 3rd... Not great. Gonna try the easy stuff first dine that doesn't work, reassess. I am totally not stoked on this development though.

Aaron's car, I am sorry the pole is going through it, honestly I was too tired to get up - it was, very, very warm today and it took it's tole on me. There isn't a guy on RL that works harder to get his car to the track than Aaron, I think he had a good day today - I hope he did, utterly deserving.

The front has felt good - the hesitancy to get back to WOT principally driven by the rear being unsettled, I think I made some good strides on that front yesterday.

Video of some of the faster laps.

Jason, it was good to meet you, your son and Aaron too. Your car is crazy ! I wish I had the time (or even the drive) and resources to accomplish the things you have done. I wish I could have stuck around to see you guys knocked down a few laps, but I had to leave for the cruise. And yes, it was very hot yesterday. I puked some coolant out on the track while digging into a few corners (as much as that long line of traffic will allow). The plume of white smoke got the attention of a few folks (including scaring the crap out of me), but it turned out it was from the overflow hose and was a result of me topping off the coolant tank when I shouldn't have (live and learn). But all was good for the next four hours of the event

Awesome meeting you too - your car looked great and glad the little scare was no big deal.

If anyone has a gearbox or knows of one for sale for far too cheap in running order, I’d be happy to know about its existence.

I've settled into what I feel is a happy place on tire pressure. Biggest change to the dampers has been in rear rebound with smaller changes elsewhere. Aero wise, the addition of the gurney flap made a difference in the higher (still pretty slow) speed stuff.

Here's what my 3rd gear now sounds like...

Did you end up softening the rear rebound Jason? Glad the gurney helped...

@zbomb Curious about your caster setting of 6.6 degrees. Was this to your request or the shops recommendation? Or maybe tire clearance? I have limited knowledge beyond the factory specs and was wondering if less caster is desirable for a track alignment or is this more focused to your particular setup?
