Porschetech3, I measured the lobe-to-lobe at 0.12-0.15mm and the outer rotor-to-body at >0.25mm. I used an indicator dial referenced to the lid mating surface and zeroed to a part of the pump body which showed now wear. The dial showed a wear of 0.1mm at the worst place. It would be interesting if you could make the same measurements to compare.

Well - been a while...
I missed the track day I had scheduled on the 24th - my guys Aaron (even though he drove the VW) and Jack represented us well I hear with some other 996's at Thompson. I had a family health issue that has owned my last 2 WKS, scary stuff. Coming out the other side of it Yesterday and being able to take a breath, I can use some of my mental horsepower for fun stuff again, like cars
I'm back on track tomorrow for a day at Thompson with Mass Tuning. Feel a lot better with the oil drain back installed, also kind of excited to see if the new scavenge pumps do anything. I'm going to be starting the day with the oil slightly higher than I generally run at about 1/2 full on the dip stick, that's about 11QTS fill. My thinking is if the UAOS drain back works like I hope, even if I am taxing the **** out of the UAOS system, it should just drain right back into the oil fill and maybe the slightly higher fill level will help to mitigate some of the pressure drops,
Had just enough time to give the car a wash, fill the tank with gas and put on the Rennline tow hook I bought...
Anyway, nice to be able to devote the proper amount of time to RL again

So - only ran half a day today, managed a new PB, 1:22.1. The UAOS oil return seemed to work great, no drop in oil level after 3 sessions.
The exciting - had my first off today, mildly dramatic even through I avoided bumping into anything.
Here's why I am dumb - don't be like me:
when I had finished putting the dash stuff together, I had broken the locking connectors that hook up the factory gauges, I pushed them in, they seemed OK and I proceeded. Well, when I finally got the car running, I was having warning lights for outside temp sensor AND ABS/PSM. So, I took everything apart, reseated them and no issues. Then the first track day of the year, I had the outside temp sensor warning come back, again, reseated the connectors and all was working. About this time, Aaron was nice enough to give me replacement locking housings for the connector to correct my setup...correctly.
Did I put them in ? NO Why you ask, cause I'm lazy and stupid and thought "hey, its working, I'll put them in the next time the stuff is apart..."
Well, that very well could have caused me some major pain if I wasn't lucky. My ABS fault light is blocked by my dash (Again, STUPID) so when at some point shortly after my fastest lap of the day, it triggered, I was none the wiser. Made a pass on a Miata got on the brakes and they immediately locked up, very lucky.
So - I already fixed the connectors when I got home, but before I put the gauges back in, I'm wiring a discrete LED to the ABS fault light similar to what I did for the CEL, it will be placed right below the dash and trigger upon the triggering of the dash warning, I won't miss it again, even through it should not come back on again. The car also made a loud clunk right before I got on the brakes, it drove fine after but I need to give everything a good look over, the car in general seems to be making a lot of noises I don't love but do not seem to have any affect on performance and I can't feel anything associated with them. I will get the car back on the road and give everything a good shakedown before Lime Rock on the 6th just to be sure.
Have not looked at any data yet to see if the scavenge pumps did anything but I will in the next day and get something put up in the oil pressure thread for anyone wondering. I'll have some video up tonight or tomorrow of fastest of the day and the shunt.
Here's what you don't want to do

Nothing like a little drama to get the adrenaline going. Congrats on the personal best. Glad you didn't do any damage to you or the car. Looking forward to seeing the data on the pumps and videos.

Oh boy...
The track gods were taking care of you making sure the abs failure occurred during a slow lap with a lot of traffic, but the traffic being out of the way. The stack of tires were coming up fast. How bad are the flat spots?

Yeah, I was really lucky, about the best spot that could have happened. Goes to show the speed things can go south on track, about 2 seconds from brake application to getting it settled in the grass.
Tires feel OK at road speeds, haven’t got them off of the car for a better look though. They are getting to the end of their life with only the 2 circumference grooves remaining, basically slicks. I do plan to run them at Lime Rock on the 6th though.
As I mentioned, I fixed the connectors last night and today one of the ladies that works for me soldered on the LED for ABS fault, she’s a professional so it came out a million times better than the one I did for the CEL. It’s amber to differentiate from the red CEL LED.
I’ll get the dash back together tonight and will test drive in the next day or so to confirm back to good on the ABS front.
That does leave me with another issue I’m not sure I mentioned, on the way home the car threw a CEL for cat efficient bank 2, some may remember I replaced both cats before the beginning of the season due to the same code and subsequent failed cat on bank 1.
So, I’ll check the sensors on the dura and see if they’re alive. If I have another bad cat I may take the 2 bad I have and gut them. I’d try to see if I could keep the cel away with anti foulers.
would like to hear any advice from guys running cat less if you’ve been able to keep the CEL away without a tune - or - if someone knows an economical way to tune it out.

Thanks Jack - was happy with improvement but was really hoping I could dip into 1:21’s - I think with the rest of the sessions I would have stood a good chance with the advanced pace being altogether higher... but leave it to bench racing.
