Another glorious day here. Sunny and warm. Got the exhaust system in place, but still need the connector clamps. I ordered them quite some time ago. Hope to see them soon.
It was so nice, I even opened the back door.
This will not stand. If there isn't a plug to fill this hole, I'll come up with something. This will account for some of the dirt and debris I found inside the bellhousing.

I'm agreein' with jjbravo, pardner. It's a vent to let the hot air escape-I don't think the Tip bellhousing has it. But I'll defer to anything Doc says if he should chime in differently.
BTW - could you tell I watched Westerns yesterday? The John Ford "cavalry" trinity -- Fort Apache, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and Rio Grande

The "Ultimate Clutch Vent Solution" should have a cross-flow ventilation with entry and exit on opposite sides with forward and backward air scoops and a filtration element !!!! signed Dr. h. c. Porschetech3

Yep, it is indeed an air vent, the 996 Turbo actually has a plastic "air scoop" that bolts to the bellhousing to promote air flow.

I really need a way to change my clutch through that vent...it would make things a whole lot easier.

This should work better. Bank #2 header on bank #2.
I pulled all the oxygen sensors out. I looked in one of the holes for one of the cats and saw a bunch of little green *****. This answers a couple of questions. 1) where that mouse disappeared to a couple of weeks ago, and 2) where all the poison has been going. I did get a mouse in a trap a few days ago. Might be the one that's been causing all this havoc.

Seeing this reminds me of a 997.1 CPO car we had at the shop years ago. The car was smoking out of the drivers side exhaust bank 2 pipe and the smell was totally obnoxious !!! The smell was so bad it cleared everyone out of the shop !! Come to find out, a rodent had filled the drivers side muffler with dry dog food, and it was turning to charcoal...lol
